There are both national and local levels; local fire departments deal with neighborhood fires and local emergencies, whereas the national fire services are more broad and engage in more serious fires in other parts of the city.

Local firefighters are (usually) volunteer, whereas national firefighters are paid positions.

Fire protection is of the main priority, as is salvaging of the machine in flames. If the machine/structure in general cannot be saved, it is then later salvaged for recycable metal.

Fire protection is obviously the main service although they work in rescue operations, first responders to an emergency, and other services where trained fire/medical personal are required.

A standard firefighter uniform with a foam pack on his back. The helmet contains a full heads-up-display with a state of the art life support system. The helmet contains a built in com-link to keep in touch with other personal also. The suits have different upgrades depending on the operation. Also, note the uniform is rather dull and firefighters are allowed to personalize their uniforms to identify each other easier, but it cannot be too distracting or interfere with equipment.

Fire fighting, protection, rescue as well as water rescue, ice rescue, and more. All Firefighters are trained to know basic first aid.
