Government of the Voerdish Free State urges Hippostania and Herrebrugh to stop mutual threats of attack. Elections in both these countries are perfectly legitimate and cannot serve as an excuse for war. Force isn't a solution of ideological disputes.
In case of an armed conflict the Voerdish Free State will introduce sanctions against the aggressor.

Why are we referring to countries as if they're people?

It seems that the international tensions between Hippostania and Herrebrugh had an effect on the Alterrean general election.
It was expected from opinion polls that the Green Party - the Left Union (Green Socialist Left) would have lost their last seat in the Executive (the Ministry of Transportation adn Urbanization) to the Centrist Community's Union (Centre).
But elections decided differently.
The Progressives (an alliance of three very different liberal parties) lost both its seats in the Executive!
The Ecologists - the Progressives (Green Liberals) lost the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to the Green Party, whereas the Ministry of External Relations, previously held by the Nationalists - the Progressives (Nationalist Liberals), has been won by the Centrist Community's Union.

It's not clear how much this international crisis influenced the Alterrean elections, because we're considering only the 0.7% of the vote (which produced a change of two seats in the government)!
