Why did you choose your national animal

My original animal was "coprophage" - animal that eats faeces. I chose that because I once lost a science quiz based on my ability to answer that question, and it has been burned into my mind ever since.

After everything in my country was renamed after Sigur Ros songs, I chose Samskeyti because 1) I particularly like that tune so wanted it in a prominent field and 2) it means Attachment (apparently) which made me think of an animal that likes to rub itself against people's legs and is generally quite friendly.

I chose Coyote because the night previous to me finding NS (Too many years ago) I saw the film ''Coyote'' Ugly... that and coyotes are underated as animals.

The coquí has much meaning to me, so, it will have meaning for the country.

Odd... my Puerto-Rican-themed nation also uses the coqui as its national animal, although for different reasons.

For this nation, I chose the Loch Ness Monster. After making my currency the "tree-fiddy" it seemed like a natural choice.

The long answer: Doesn't it seem ironic that a nomadic people like the Sonnveldak tribes should adopt a territorial animal as their totem? Of course not. The Black Wolves stay behind and hold the fort while we range around. So nice to pull into a reservation to see a contingent of friendly black lupine faces, ready to greet us with wagging tails, kisses and ripping fangs!
