The Fascists and Communist Dictatorships(Well, dictatorships in general) are next on the list, but we have so many barbarians and slavers to kill liberate, they really shouldn't be worried about us.

Chiefly at this time the Merchant Republics recognizes no significant threats from foreign civilizations to such a degree to call them enemies, while we would conclude the vast majority of our universe appears to be populated by mindless barbarians, from fascists, socialists, petty dictators and rude hewn democracies populated by simpletons. We do not consider such barbarians a threat at this time.

The Republics principal enemies are internal, and largely criminal gangs of pirates which attempt to prey on both domestic and external trade with other civilizations, these pirates rarely represent a significant military threat but their use of lightening fast raids and affiliations with foreign slave traders have made them a constant enemy.

Last of all and perhaps our worst enemies would be the nomadic warbands of the Vodar that travel along our fringe territories conducting large scale massacres on fledgling colonies. Attempts at controlling these barbaric Vodar (in comparison to civilized Vodar which can be dealt with) have largely met with failure due to their lack of permanent territory, space is simply too big to find most of their war parties except when they attack.
