We don't ban songs. Sure, most people may shun a song and anyone who listens to it, like they do with most rap songs, but they're not banned.

No songs are banned, but if enough people find something you are playing loudly is annoying, you might be fined for disturbing the peace.

The government has no authority to ban songs. Individual broadcasters can choose to ban songs either permanently (this has never happened) or when playing it would be deemed inappropriate.
Please note: Central Lothian is the direct successor to Mid Lothian*. As a result, I am still called Rebecca, I am still a Grammar Nazi and most information pertaining to ML also applies to CL (although I will be taking this time to change a few things).

* - And I may refer to the country as Mid Lothian. If I do, assume that I mean Central Lothian. (And not to be confused with "Midlothian" - I'm using that as a fascist version of CL.)

Fearless leader has decreed the "barney theme song" illegal.

The punishment for singing it is DEATH.

The people's demands have been met.

No songs are banned, but extreme songs (e.g. Nazi songs) come with a warning, like a step up from the "parental advisory" stickers

Only one song was once banned called 'The Alien Invasion' by MC Racca. Racca was put by jail later. His song was about immigrants, especially Asians. He called up to lynch them.

Unconstitutional!

Postby Paxiani » Sat Jun 18, 2011 8:43 am

I believe that it is quite unconstitutional to ban media in Paxiani. I mean, what's the point? If we ban a song, people will probably go on to listen to it anyway. We can't put trackers on people or alarms in the citizens' homes. This is a democracy for crying out loud! At least I am! The dictatorships and absolute monarchies can go ahead and do this, but I think that illegitimate activities like barring media should be prohibited from democracies. Extreme media (excessive amounts of swearing, sexual references, etc.) in Paxiani will bear a 21 sticker, meaning only citizens 21 and older can buy it. What do you think?

any song that is not produced by the Ministry of Truth, People's Musical Entertainment Directorate or a Fellow Socialist Nation is considered illegal media, and is punished the same way as consuming or posessing any form of illegal non-authorized media.

The Internationale was outlawed by King Andrew II in 1903, as part of his infamous "Morality Edict." The only section of the Edict to still be in effect, the ban on the song has nevertheless never been used to prosecute anyone, and indeed the song is played, regardless of the ban, every year at the Communist Party's May Day march in Palatina.

While not banned, Pop music, Hip-Hop, and Rap are very unpopular and are considered fringe. Mostly as Pop and Hip-Hop are extremely foreign and there are almost no Polish hip-hop or pop artists, and most rap is german. However, the following songs are banned:
-Justin Bieber, moslty because it made the Sejm's ears bleed and for foreign influence.
-Ke$ha for explicit activities and references.
-Rebecca Black's Friday for foreign influence.

While there have never been a official gov't ban on any particular song, Snake South Amerikans tend to have a extremely demanding taste of music. Industrialized bubblegum teen-pop, flashy car & jewels hip-hop, downright sucky bands and -core crap tend to fail miserably in S.S.A.
