As long as a song does not break the laws against attempting to start a revolution nor tries to promote outlawed ideologies according to the law (just as most other media would not be allowed to do) so are they not banned.

Until 1991, any song, relating to the Syvorjin Military Junta (1967 to 1972), was banned, as a symbol of the junta. They, like anything Junta related were finally legalized after a decision made in 1991 in the Syvorjin Courts.

Communities that have leaders occasionally see fit to ban certain songs or forms of music and other art, depending on their personal tastes. These communities do not have too many long-term residents as they find that it eventually comes around to what they enjoy as well. They tend to move to communities which aren't as anal about it or at all, if they can.

Any song not approved by the Ministry of Culture cannot be legally distributed or performed. While no songs are outright banned, there isn't much need to ban undesirable songs either, since no true Marian would defile his mouth by singing some outsider garbage anyway.

Singing "The Internationale" or other Commie songs loudly in public will likely invite a beating from the police and annoyed bystanders. Leftie liberal songs promoting liberty, equality and diversity also come pretty close on Marian hate list.

No, the government does not ban songs. Of course certain songs strike a sour chord with some people, but they don't move to ban them.

Remember Rhodesia.

Die Fahne hoch | The Flag on High for the English speakers; is illegal in the Kaiserreich. As are any pieces of music that glorify the so called Greater German Realm. Also illegal are any pieces of music that dehumanize the value of various peoples; anything blatantly racist and anti to certain peoples and cultures. The list goes on and on, there is needless to say, no freedom of expression once you get done with this list alone.

On a less serious but not overly offensive note; everything by Justin Bieber is illegal.

The Government has no authority to censor music, but teen pop stars and rebel singers have a tendency to die from "accidental" drug overdoses.

Not by the Federal Gov't, no. However, we suppose some of the more questionable material may be banned from public performances in certain areas by the local decency ordinances. It would still, of course, be perfectly legal privately.

Most forms of censorship are considered unconstitutional, but the government does have the authority to declare any work to be in the public domain.

The government has no authority to ban media except those which glorify certain unconstitutional organizations. Enforcement on Nazi songs are pretty poor.
