There are neither censored nor illegal songs here. Everyone is able to hear everything, it's their damn ears they destroy.

We don't ban songs, because a) it's unconstitutional and b) we're wary of the Streisand effect. However, recently the Rosenham City Council managed to obtain an injunction that suspended a Justin Bieber concert within the borough, on the grounds that it would "incite public disorder". Which is interesting, because events that are "political or religious in character" cannot be prevented from happening - even if they involve Nazis or satanic cults. However, Justin Bieber appealed to the provincial Court of Appeal, who ruled that the event was "very religious in character" and ordered it to go ahead.

The government of TurtleShroom does not usually ban songs. Rather, they just censor the cursing or the uncleanliness out of it. All music sold in TurtleShroom is automatically submitted to the TS Holiness Board, where diligent censors remove all indecency before passing it to the shelves and record stores. The artist is not billed for this; censorship of immorality is an entirely state-funded act provided courtesy of the TurtleShroom taxpayer.
* That was dicussed in this forum: viewtopic.php?p=2205219#p2205219

Censors that cross the lines of practice usually find themselves jailed. The government is generally forbidden to censor political dissent.

THIS BEING SAID, there ARE some songs outright forbidden in TurtleShroom, whether or not they are clean:
  • Lady Gaga songs, media, and Lady Gaga herself
  • Justin Bieber songs and media
  • Anything from the Teletubbies
  • Pro-Nazi propaganda
  • Pro-genocide/murder propaganda
  • "Devil music" (music that, in the lyrics, glorifies Satan)
  • Songs about alcohol that can't be cleaned up (e.g. this)
  • Sorcery chants/spells/hexes/whatever set to music, and songs about witchcraft
  • ...-and more.

Despite what one would think, Rebecca Black and her "Friday" song is not banned in TurtleShroom, nor is its sale inhibited.

The government of the Commonwealth sees no reason to censor songs for any reason.
FACTBOOK | OPEN AN EMBASSY

"If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself."

No specific songs are banned and free speech is rampant in Sol Bella. However, hate-based songs are indeed banned.

My government doesn't mind explicit content or repeated swearing. However, political songs are a gray area. If a song merely sings about other types of government, it's okay. If it directly questions or mocks Litresha's government, it is banned.
