Main infantry weapon:

Mosin-Nagant Model 1891/30

Also our assault units use the TKB-517 for their infantry, a weapon which is also used by field officers.

A tad outdated in doctrine, but a very good choice of weapons nonetheless.

Hm, ditch the M16, make the M14 either a reserve/militia weapon or a designated marksman weapon. The SVD could be ditched, though the Mk 14's a designated marksman weapon rather than a true sniper rifle. The Barret should be relegated to being simply an AM sniper rifle. Finally, the Desert Eagle should be ditched, since it's largely impractical for a regular military to use.

Alright, question for you all,

I've looked a little (am continuing to search) and haven't been able to find any evidence, but I've heard tell of a belt-fed version of the BAR produced post-World War 2 and possibly fielded in Vietnam. Anyone know anything about that?

Edit:

Ok, little bit more searching led me to this:

That was only ever experimental but, as the site mentions, the FN MAG is based of the BAR.

Yeah, I'd seen that too. Was just simply shopping around for uniqueness for a different nation.

If you don't mind some of the flaws, it'd actually be a pretty cool and unique weapon to use.

Yeah, but it was still nice to get an informed second opinion.

Besides, gotta keep this thread all nice and lovey-dovey, less we want a shiny new fifth version to populate. :)

So, as I've said earlier, 1800s Khazyani weapons are what I want to be making for the next few days.

Ideas?

I'm going to suggest ideas, I'm just trying to familiarise myself with the Russian/Middle-East styles from that era.

I made a bullpup 7.32x50mm rifle. (Arbitrary Pridwennic calibers ftw)

Can't decide which version to use, there are two in the picture I've posted.

They look nearly identical to me :/

The only thing I'm coming up with is that pistol grip looks awkward to hold...maybe a bit more of a cant is in order?

Edit:

Rear ironsight seems kinda far forward, but that might just be the scale, I'm not sure., Would you say its in about the same place the rear sight is on say, an AKM?

My ideas:

1) A muzzle loading rifle patterned after the Ottoman muskets.

2) A breech loading conversion of the rifle chambered in a 15.24mm round (my suggested loading: a 300 gr bullet @ 1000 ft/s).

3) A revolver chambered in the same round as breech loading conversion.

They are nearly identical, that's why I can't pick. :p

The lower one has more metal, the top one more wood.

The grip does look somewhat uncomfortable... I might angle it a bit more.

EDIT: I designed the rear sight so it would be roughly the same place as it is on AK models. Source:

EDIT AGAIN:

Here it is with a more ergonomic grip:

And behold... The AY-66. I made it in PMG, then deleted the shading and replaced the lines with black, then recoloured it to look as though I had actually done something.
Anyway, statblock:
Name: AY-66
Cartridge: 7.62x54mmR
Action: Gas Operated, Rotating Bolt, Long-stroke piston
Length: 1,030mm
Barrel Length: 565mm
Magazine Capacity: 10-round SVD, 20-round (,probably lulzy 30-round too)
Designer: Yanintovian State Arms Design Bureau
Production Entered: 1967
Effective Range: 800m (with optics)
Thoughts?

Just wondering, what scale is that in (if you're doing it to scale)? The grip looks good, but a little on the thin side (this is judging by eye, I might be completely off).
