How does the Owen work anyway? I can see the cartridge falling out as you pull the charging handle.

That's good. I looks like a side loading SMG I designed.
Which means a failure of an engineer like me can do some stuff too. Yay.

Yeah its called a sear, and if you pull the trigger the sear descends so if you pull the trigger while cocking the bolt, the sear is already lowered (though its designed to be forced down by the rearward movement of the bolt anyways). The Owen fires from an open bolt, and is automatic only, so the sear is designed to hold hold the bolt back or stop the bolt from traveling forward to stop its operation (upon releasing the trigger.) When the trigger is pulled, the trigger pushes up at the bottom of the sear which pivots withdrawing the upper section of the sear from the bolt recess and allowing the bolt to slam forward to chamber and fire a round.Fischermann wrote:What I don't understand is..
What if I pull the trigger before the bolt comes back? Wouldn't the gun crack because the ''bolt lock'' has been broken by the retracting bolt?

It does look amazing, but your barrel detail is off, because of perspective. The upper and lower rows of detailing on the barrel should be lower in height than the middle, because they curve around the barrel.

*Sigh*
At least switch to the AKM; it is cheaper to produce, lighter, has better accuracy, and is just generally a better rifle. That's if you want to keep it AK. For weapons using 7.62x39mm, I would suggest either the TKB-517 or Type 81 as a service rifle and TKB-022 as a carbine. There are loads of others that give you much better performance than the AKM (and, therefore, the AK-47). However, of course, it's your choice.

Okay, then I'll stick to the AKM and the Type 81 as service rifles, the TKB-022 as the carbine for the Elite troops, and the AK-47 as a ceremonial and milita weapon. Maybe your right with that!
