People tend to forget that the French fought many conflicts both before and after (not to mention during WWII) the Battle of France; if that single defeat is enough to warrant the treatment of the French as a third rate military force, I think we can all safely assume that the combat record of the US in Vietnam would be reasonable ground for me to label the US Armed Forces cowards and incompetents.
