History and General Information
Taris is the largest city in the region formerly titled, The Guild of Calamitous Intent. After the Guild fell apart following its founder nation's dissolution, Taris became the regional seat and capital of a new region, Taris. The city itself, previously sat within the territory of the Guild's former founder, Not Dumb People. Following the break up of the nation, Taris was nominated by the United Kingdom of DunderMifflin Infinity to be the new regional capital and the city became collectively owned by all nations in the region, and it remains that way to this day.The city is well known for being one of the most 'modern' cities in the whole of the region. It has the most interesting and modern architecture in the region and hosts a vast and diverse ammount of citizens. Citizens of Taris, currently fall under the leadership of the Taris City Council. The city council consists of 447 politicians who are from the nations of the region who claim legal residence within the Taris city limits. They represent their constituents in the city and in turn are represented by the Taris City High Council; a 12 member council, including the Mayor who runs the High Council, and the Adjutant Officer of the Council who runs the City Council. The members are selected by their political parties to represent them in the High Council (proportional to the ammount of seats each party holds in the City Council), and each party in the High Council then selects one of their representatives to run for Mayor in a city-wide election. The adjutant is selected by the party that currently holds a simple majority in the Council. Citizens of Taris retain their citizenship to their home nation, but must comply with Taris law while in the city and can earn residence after staying legally for 4 years.

Although the region's founder remains the UK, the document that formed the region, The Articles of the Formation of Taris, were signed by both the UK and the Empire of Great Odins Raven. From time to time the region has hosted a number of nations, however, these two have remained consistently throughout the region's history and are by far the largest and most powerfull. In the city, the currency is the Tari, however, national currencies are accepted at most shops. Currently the member nations are debating forming a regional government and ratifying a regional constitution.

The city is situated on an island roughly 10 miles off of the regional mainland, near the border between the UK and the Empire. The island itself is 589.7 sq. miles and is 100% urbanised. It is the most highly populated city in the region and has around the clock access by ferry, and by airline or helecopter to the mainland.
