The "Truths of Aum" new religious movement is by far the most prolific domestic terrorist organization. Founded in 1972 by a blind Buddhist monk who had adopted the name of "Aum," the movement attracted many depressed and disenfranchised folk seeking a spiritual experience for meaning in life. Though initially a movement for peaceful spirituality, Aum’s actions and narcissism began to attract negative attention from his peers; after a wild orgy involving his followers, Aum was ostracised by his fellow monks for violating the faith in 1983. Using his expulsion to his advantage, Aum told his followers he had reached enlightenment and had chosen to wander alone. His fellowship grew; Aum’s easily corrupted mind became megalomaniacal. Aum's depravity grew and twisted, turning him into the self-proclaimed Buddha and Christ of the modern age. By 1990, Aum and his movement believed only radical societal change could bring about a new Holy age and that sacrifices were needed to fuel spiritual powers.
The following five events are attributed to his cult. Aum and his closest confidants are awaiting execution - the only people to ever receive the death sentence in Yasashii's history. These executions have been delayed over their controversy, despite capital punishment being wholly legal.
