Outsiders...

Postby Zhou Renmin Pingdang » Sun Jun 05, 2011 7:04 pm

How do the citizens/government of your nation view the outside world? In Zhou Renmin Pingdang outsiders are welcomed in terms of tourism and study abroad progams at universities across ZRP in addition to military and business partnerships. On a social level, citizens of ZRP are very suspicious of outsiders and view them as people who are incapable of understanding the culture of ZRP.

With a mix of suspicion, indifference, and eagerness to make trading partners. Outsiders are generally seen with a little suspicion, especially from Mammalians (Humans and Human-look alikes in particular) but are overall tolerated to a fault.

2. we view other humans as equals
3. we view non humans as equals that need to be watched

our nation views mostly everything that isnt in our nation as lesser than us

Generally with optimism, we have mutual gains from realizing there is a world around us, and hardly is our nation the centre of it.

With some interest, some suspicion, and a good deal of humour. Not that we see ourselves as superior or anything; we just like making fun of stuff. Helps that we're a large tourism center these days as well. Lulz all around. Foreign culture and religion, though, is only met with positivity so long as it stays foreign for a sizable portion (although not all) Hresejns. Though of course, being a large trade nation, we do know how to be polite and courteous as well, often happily learning customs and languages in order to better interact with folks we're giving and receiving to and from. Officially.

We've had open borders for the last 4202 years (a contributing factor to our ridiculous population). We do not consider people from other countries "outsiders." Our country is for all to enjoy, given they want to enjoy it and contribute in legal and positive ways. With low birth rates and high immigration, our nation is headed for a majority foreign born population in just a couple of decades.

Solestum generally views outsiders as potential resources if they can be destroyed. In regards to tourism and immigration, it is illegal and virtually impossible to leave Solestum after you have entered. And of course, getting into the country involves hours of rigorous and thorough searching and background checks on the immigrant and their family members. Being related to, knowing with, working with, or having any sort of relationship with anybody who could be considered criminal in Solestum for acts committed in any country will result in immediate rejection.

Depends on the outsider. And of course, the individual you ask. In general, Xanthalians have a very open attitude. Immigration, tourism, and international commerce are all prominent, so there's widespread familiarity and comfort with external influences. Of course, hostility can arise when local values or processes are challenged by foreign forces, but Xanthal's people tend to have a "live and let live" attitude as long as nobody feels they're being challenged.

We love outsiders. We want to hug them tight and hold them close to us forever and ever and ever <3 And someday they shall all love us as well! I mean sure, now they say "oh god no, don't hurt us, aiieeee" but sooner or later they shall look forward to their impending annexation with the same enthusiasm with which we bring nuclear weapons to bear on their cities!

That depends who they are. If they're a member of the AFIC (Alliance of Former Imperial Colonies) then they will generally be viewed in a friendly manner. Otherwise they will be viewed on a scale from willing to trade - indifferent - threat.

Relatively isolated from the rest of the world, Yvenia has a low immigration rate despite the absence of immigration quotas and the lax restrictions on becoming a citizen. Nevertheless, immigrants in Yvenia are welcomed and accepted in society so as long as they do not disregard, desecrate, or defame Yvenian culture.

Costa Luna is an isolationist country through choice, not through force. We view the outside world as generally immoral and corrupt, led by those who aspire to be as greedy and corrupt as possible; who wish to drive the world into the ground instead of making it better. Hence; while we deal with the outside, we tend to view the governments with suspicion and the citizenry as weakly led sheep-people.

Foreigners come and go here, tourism is our largest(legal) industry so we abide them and we hope before they leave they pick up some of our habits so that the world isn't such a terrible place anymore.

Are we not all citizens of the world?

That said, our people generally welcome outsiders with open arms. We could always use a few new faces, especially ones with knowledge or skills current residents don't possess.
