Small saber-toothed cats are often kept as pets, and when they grow up, kept around as mounts and guard animals.

Cats taste okay, soo they are fairly popular at restaurants, similar to chicken, though overshadowed by dogs, cows and pork.

This, essentially. A number of restaurants serve cat, and cat meat can be bought at most any grocery store.

People keep them as pets, obviously, but the government is increasing restrictions on pet ownership through the Public Sanitation Doctrines.

It is hoped that the new robotic pets continue to grow in popularity so that pet animals can be phased out within fifteen years; the Emperor has decided that the keeping of animals as pets is unbecoming of the Imperium, and that they consume resources that humans deserve more.

Cats are a common and revered pet. In Samozniy culture, a cat owner is considered to be refined and articulate.
The Samozniy Tiger, a Siberian Tiger that adapted so much to the Samozniy landscape that it became its own subspecies, is also occasionally used as housepets, though a possession licence is required, in addition to a proof of taming licence. The Incumbent has several tamed tigers at the Incumbent's Retreat.

Domesticated felines are in the minority as the domesticated dog is the primary household pet in Karshkovia.

The eldest daughter of our nation's President has hand-raised two Caracals and the youngest daughter has hand-raised a beautiful pair of African Servals. The President himself has an 5 year old Irish Setter.

Many people in Esternial have cats and even a few manage to own tiligers, a cross-breeding between a liger (lion-tiger) and a tiger which results in a very calm and tame animal.

Unusual for someone in Brachyuria to have a cat as a pet, stereotypically viewed as a sign of social awkwardness, especially if the owner is female, or lives alone. Mobs of feral or street cats are routinely captured, and if not adopted from a shelter within a few weeks, are killed and ground up into crab food.

In Naurobia the Cat is our national animal and surveys indicate that 50% of all households have cat(s) and half of those have more than one cat. Dogs on the other hand are only present in 20% of all households and only 30% of those have more than one dog. In addition to that the Cat continues to grow in popularity while the dogs is becoming more and more unpopular as each year goes by. Experts predict that if this trend continues then dogs would no longer be viewed as pets at all in 25 more years making Naurobia a dedicated cat lovers paradise.

No of course not. They just won't be seen as pets. There wouldn't really be a place for them in Naurobia and they would then have to be exported to another nation where there are still dog lovers.

It would be pretty hard to export all the dogs from a nation. There's bound to be one or two people that do like them and when they get together...

Cats are quite common as pets in the federation and they are also seen as wonderful little buggers as they are not only cute but they do also keep rats away so they are amongst dogs, mules and horses the most common and useful animals that lives in the federation, sure the people of Salywa eats them to the complains and annoyance of the rest of the federation.

We kill rats, too. A few keep them as pets as well. More than keep cats, actually. They don't reek as much.

Remember, we regularly kill human beings on the altar, so it's not a big deal.

About 35% of all Tsvarchivan households have a cat in them. Tsvarchivan cats are not the ones found in other nations - our breeds are quite large, sometimes as large as lions or tigers. They even look like them. Cute and cuddly, too.

Tsvarchivans for some reason or another like very large animals.

80% of the Dragonkin populace own at least TWO cats.
You know, I never expected that statistic.

I guess Dragons just really like cats as pets.
