This is the information dossier concerning the Kingdom of Frisia. It pertains to Arumdaum's AAW IV RP. Do not post in this thread.

Short history of your nation: The Frisian Kingdom is an ancient state, older than most other European nations. It has waxed and waned, grown and shrunk, but always has existed. In the 1600s, it led the way in the colonial races, but after establishing itself in the Americas and Asia, it halted expansion and simply built up infrastructure and population in those areas it had claimed.
Short description of your nation: A trading empire based upon the sea, Frisia is also one of the largest shipbuilders in the world, and has become incredibly adept at the making of artificial islands. The economy is based mostly on trade and processing; Frisia refines most of Northern and Western Europe's gasoline, for example, because Utrecht is where most of it comes into Europe.

Frisia is divided into three sections: Old Frisia, which contains the Low Countries; New Frisia, which contains the lands in North America; and the Frisian East Indies, which currently consists only of Eastjar (Singapore), but once also encompassed Ceylon and Formisia. There is also the uninhabited and unincorporated Frisian Antarctic Islands: the Kergulen and Prince Edward Island groups. Some research stations are there, but they are not regularly populated. Rumors abound about hidden submarine pens on the islands, but the Frisian government denies these claims, and no concrete evidence has ever been found.

The Frisian Defence Forces are divided into two parts: the Maritime Security Forces and the Land Forces. Each operates its own aircraft, though air operations are often conducted under the Joint Aerial Command Forces, a temporary organizational unit that in practice composes the air traffic control part of the Frisian Defence Forces.

GOVERNMENT

Frisia is a kingdom, but it is ruled also by the people. The monarchy still retains the power to do many things, such as running the military, vetoing amendments to the National Charter (Constitution), and (most importantly) trimming the bureaucracy to keep spending low. Meanwhile, the Althing, an assembly of representatives from the various provinces, creates new laws, addresses issues, and does other such things. It functions much like the United States was intended to function.
