In some places you will find towns in the middle of the desert where they ship water in by camel caravan, but they're mostly cut off from the rest of the world. You know, life as it's been for thousands of years. If you ever visit, look for the water salesmen. But anyway, where do most people live in your nation? Farming communities, factory lots, etc? I find that tells a lot about a nation.

The densest areas of the city for housing are the downtown and university districts of the capital which are adjacent, but in the much larger cities of Zatar and Zargusa, there are two areas which are distant. In Zatar the rich "manor" district is located midway along the coast, and this is very dense, very upscale, and very Right leaning. The college district, to the east, leans Left, and is less wealthy, and also very dense. Likewise in Zargusa the university district in the core of the city is Leftist and very dense, while in the northernmost section of the city, along the river, the rich live in their own dense neighborhood.

I'd never thought about it before, but most of the wealthy live on the river or coast, which lean Right, while the interior is poorer and leans Left.

Over half of the population is urban, but that's largely clustered around semi-nomadic settlements on the outskirts of the capital. There are a few other cities, but they are largely glorified villages.

The rest live in rural areas such as the grassland and scrub vegetation areas along the coast or the deep desert in one of many makeshift settlements.
