Has there ever been a situation similar to this in your nation, a peaceful Government step down or a government leader changing the government type?

In 1963, the head of the Supreme National Legislature stepped down amid a narcotics scandal. He was killed two years later in a National Counter-Narcotics Bureau (NCNB) raid on his home. Allegedly he pulled a handgun out and he got his face busted in by a 5.56x45 round.

Yes. Although both the First Revolution (when the royal family was killed and the military took control of the country after a civil war with the perpetrators of the assassination), the Second Revolution (where the People's Communist Army fought the military dictatorship, and earlier changes in government, including the numerous civil wars and assassinations that occurred in the the medieval era involved violence and conflict, occasionally monarchs were forced to abdicate. Also, in recent years, one or two Prime Ministers have resigned due to scandals.

The Novariean state and the office of Chancellor have remained almost unchanged in basic principle since the formation of the Commonwealth in 1522, but since we are an autocracy with no set term limits, the majority of our Chancellors have stepped down peacefully at the end of their term and handed power over to their chosen successor. The small minority that didn't either died of natural causes/diseases/accidents while in office or were assassinated (usually by their immediate successor in cases where they had begun to become corrupt or oppressive). That's very rare though.

Kalumba has undergone many changes in government in our history, all of them peaceful. In 1935 the governer became the ceremonial leader and an elected parliament came into being. Due to WWII an emergency state of government was introduced which ended in 1945. In 1970 a senate was elected alongside a parliament, with the President becoming the national leader ahead of the Prime Minister.

A referundum was held to vote on complete independence from the motherland and the removal of King Phillip as head of state, but was defeated by 78% of the vote with a 65% turnout.

This major transition between types of government was initially resisted by some conservatives, but won the backing of the Norvenian Reformed Apostolic Church and of most citizens, and so took place entirely peacefully.

In the Lotrabme there was an incident simmilar to Cromwells takeover, Lord Beetlejuice von Beetleman took control of the Sage Council for himself and created a system where the senates had no power at all, and the Emperor was subservient to the sages, however Beetlejuice after a few years saw his error and gave the Emperor back his powers, and he was allowed to remain in office for 5 more years as he was old by that time and the service is for life, in total his reign lasted 45 years with 32 of them being under his own government as Lord High Sage and Chief of council. His son continued on as one of the sages, and despite being in his fathers shadow led a much happier life.

Yes, twice, in fact. Queen Elizabeth Chase, after assuming the Presidency, declared herself monarch of Ceannairceach. Two days later, she declared a Constitution to be ratified.

More recently, Grand Chancellor Markus A. Lindon disbanded the Transitional Republic of Ceannairceach in favor of creating the fascistic Great Celtic Federation.

over a year ago, the Konig Heinrich Von Stauffenheim II was killed in a car bomb explosion which set off a time period known as "the Great Troubles" which lasted from February to May of 2010 in which Zehr-Brunswick Changed Governments almost every other Week, From An Empire to A Socialist Republic, to a Fascist State, and back to a Monarchy again.

Unless a monarch is recalled, and doesn't end up dying in office, all Tsvarchivan monarchs abdicate after a period of time. The last abdication was on June 8, 2010, when His Royal Highness King Furoq stepped down after 41 years on the throne.

During his abdication speech he did declare his intentions to have Tsvarchi transition from an elective monarchy to a republic, and at that time appointed an interim president. The only problem is that the monarch cannot legally change the system of government and the Royal Legislature voted to refuse to acknowledge the legitimacy of the interim president's power, essentially making the country have no head of state or government for a period of time, until the coronation of His Royal Highness King Whirnak on July 13th, 2010.

Though there has never been a peaceful Government step down, our old leader decided to change the government type. The problem is he detonated a fusion bomb in the capital destroying a portion of Tipidemica; though after all was said in done, Tipidemica became a much more peaceful and prosperous nation.
