Tbh, I don't even know that myself. I really gotta fix it. Basically, parties appoint a huge list of candidates nationwide and then people can vote for them. 500 candidates who got the most votes will get to the Parliament.

I'd recommend open-list proportional representation, which is what Finland uses. You vote for your favourite party, and you can also give a few "preference votes" to your favourite candidates within that party. An individual candidates chance of getting into Parliament is affected by their position on the Party List and the number of preference votes they get.
