Students are required to have one credit of "Humanities" in order to graduate from a Junior Collegiate Institution (High School). This credit can be gained by attending an Art (all types) class, Music class (chorus or band), or General Humanities class. A student can recieve multiple credits for taking multiple "Humanities" classes, but needs at least one to graduate. Lower insititutions such as a Post-Primary Institution (Middle School) and Primary Institutions (Elementary School) do not require the classes, but are free to offer them.

Note: The term institution is usually omitted when refering to "schools" in common conversation. Usually they are refered to as Junior Collegiate, Post-Primary, and Primary. These terms are in turn omitted when the "school" has a recognizable name, which most do.

They have them, but due to the pragmatic schooling here, most parents and teachers don't want students to take an 'unnecessary' course when there a maths and sciences to learn.

No classes in the Republics are strictly-speaking mandatory, most schools ask for a least one art-related credit for a diploma, by and large most artistic programs are extra-curricular, and usually quite popular pastimes. All forms of class are offered, choral, band, visual arts, painting, sculpture and design.

We have no intention or indeed ability to enact any form of mandatory arts instruction, especially when artistic programs are often overcrowded to begin with; the Merchant Republics has a very artistic culture. We do not suffer from any serious enough behavioural activity to notice any strong diminishing trends. We assume there have been none.

We do not have a State regulating our schools, but rather precedents ands standards are set by local federations, so we cannot say that we have law regarding the fine arts in the schools, however the Arts are taught here regardless, with music composure and sculpting being the most popular among students.

Yes.
We in the People's Republic believe that a cultured populace is an educated and rational one.

Plus, taking part in bands and drama groups in schools and colleges is a deeply enriching social experience, aside from the artistic talents it provides.

Yarp. My citizens are required to be in a hall twice a week where Wagner is played and Nietzche read aloud. Failure to show up results in fines. If they fail three times they will soon die a natural death.

There are no art classes in state schools. Mostly because this is assumed to be something which parents teach to their children and it would be impossible to teach these subjects without a bias which is seen as discriminating. Private schools are free to have them though ans some students of public schools do attend certain courses at private schools.

Yes, it is required, in a sense that the people in the Imperial Empire learn culture, art, music and drama. But bands and such? Completely varies from school to school.

Schools are not forced to teach the Arts, but many offer them as optional subjects. Students must complete Mathematics, Science, English, and History courses up to the age of 18, alongside between 4 and 6 other subjects they can choose from up to 15 optional subjects schools decide to make available.

Certain high-schools do, but many others don't. Elementary schools encourage children to draw things in their spare time, although that is not neccesary either.

Libertus has everything, and it's all optional.

That can be applied across-the-board... (every thread)

Capitalism is always the answer. Whenever there's a problem in capitalism, you just need some more capitalism. If the solution isn't capitalism, then it's not really a problem. If your capitalism gets damaged, you just need to throw some capitalism on it and get on with your life.

StellarGate has Fine Arts.

It is taught mandatory in Elementary(Just plain drawing, painting, singing cute songs.)(Grades PreK-4)

In Junior MiddleSchool(Grades 5-7) it is required that a student takes a Fine Art Class but may choose between the different subjects: Band, Photo(Digital and Film), Drama, Music, Drawing and Painting

In Junior HighSchool(Grades 8-10) It is not required but encourged. One class which is often taken for people going to enter the military young(as young as 15) is called Art of War, and is the most popular class in school. it teaches about war, how art is used in it, and lessons on famous artworks of battles, wars, and soldiers alike.

If a person dosn't enter the military in Junior HighSchool then most of the time they continue:

HighSchool(Grades 11-collage level courses) It is not required that you take Fine Arts Class and the students are no longer pressed about taking the classes.

Yes, Nohn has fine arts, but most of it is extracurricular and paid for by the sythen clans or human community organizations. The protectorate government sees no reason to fund these 'idle wastes of time,' and if parents want them, they should be willing to step up and form the organizations themselves, instead of relying on the government to do it for them. It's not a popular answer, by far, but the clans are more then capable of forming these groups and seem to have done a solid job of it over the past few decades.

It is Mandatory in all schools that can afford it, which is basically all of them. Those that can not can work a solution out with the local School Board. Culture is openly embraced and loved in Wagondia, so it was not surprising when the Education Ministry put this law into effect last year.

It is mandatory for Rudimentary schools (Grades Pre-K thru 5). Once students advance to Intermediate School (Grades 6-8), they have a choice on whether or not they wish to take fine arts classes. However, the classes are very popular amongst students and over thousands take them every year.
