Throughout Gutian history the axe have been one of the most important melee weapons. In light of that we have chosen to follow our tradition with axes.

Only the high guard is issued with the bayonet. That is because it would be too expensive to convert all the AK5's we have to be able to support the bayonet which originally was intended for the now almost completely phased out AK4.

Khukari

Khukari or Kukari is national weapon of Nepal. It is carried by every solider and even government officer has to have it. It is only weapon which doesn't require license or tax to be owned/ possessed. It is a symbol of bravery and every soldier is given minimum of 6 month training on Khukari however traning is not really needed since anyone in Nepal Army perfectly knows how to use it for attack/ defense since 2nd test in military is to be able to kill a hungry tiger with nothing but Khukari (of course if tiger poses risk of life on candidate, a shot is fired on tiger which faints it). Khukari training is given for free out of military too for anyone who wants to take it.

Use of Khukari in Combat
The blade's distinctive forward drop is intended to act as a weight on the end of the blade and make the khukri fall on the target faster and with more power. For attacking, the khukri is most effective as a chopping or slashing weapon, though it can be used for stabbing. In combat, the khukri is basically used in three different styles: stabbing with the point, slashing or chopping with the edge, and (rarely) throwing. Because it has an angular blade bending towards the opponent, the user need not create an angle in the wrist, which makes a khukri more comfortable as a stabbing weapon than other straight-bladed knives. Its heavy blade enables the user to inflict deep wounds and to cut through muscle and bone. In many battle around the world, Soldiers of Nepal Army are known for using the khukri to chop off an enemy soldier's head with one stroke.
