The Holy Empire of Fouzen is a moderately sized nation composed of several ethnic groups located in the north-western hemisphere of the world that shares a border with several nations and a two-hundred mile coastline with the Northern Ocean. Much of the Western territories consists of hills, rivers, and fertile farmlands. The SW is home to an arid region where large oil deposits are drilled for. The Northern provinces provide much of the nation's industrial capability along with many coal mines to fuel the nation's refineries and energy plants. The nation has fallen on hard times from the Great Depression and is in the process of recovering, but much of the population is living in poverty, unemployed, or under employed. Consequently the national government (itself an extension of the church) has laid the cause of the nation's problems on economic sabotage carried out by foreign governments and has initiated a massive military build-up in the late 30's early 40's in preparation for war. Regardless, many speculate these claims to be a guise for the Church wanting to spread its influence and to annex new, resource rich territories for the empire.
