Brief Overview of the History of Sessho

Early History

The landmass that the Holy Consortium lays upon was discovered and settled as early as the 1200s, when wandering 'Khinen' Nomads came across the island. While little is known of the events of the next hundred years, it is believed that the Khinen Nomads made permanent settlement in Sessho, and likely brought more of their kind to the island. However, it is known that the said nomads eventually spread themselves across Sessho, and developed small city states, all with unique governments.

The Razulica Period

In 1429, the Razulic City State began a string of religious trials, in direct contradiction to the pacifist nature of the Shinen' Khodo faith, which at this time was likely the sole religion that could be found in Sessho. Theses trials were performed with the intention of ensuring that no cultists were present in the Razulic Society, and any individual who was found to be acting suspiciously was brought into question. Little is known of what was considered "suspicious", yet it is believed that approximately twenty seven percent of the Razulic Population was trialed at least once during the 'Razulica Period'. The trails themselves consisted of three procedures. Upon being informed of trial, a man or woman would be brought into the city square, and placed in a cage, known as a "Ruhoung". Upon being placed in this cage, a man or woman would be starved for approximately twenty four hours. After twenty four hours, a hearing would be held, questioning the citizen of his supposed wrongdoings. Should the man be deemed innocent by the Government assigned 'Judges', he would be freed from the cage, and offered a meal. However, should the man be deemed guilty of being "unpure", he would be stripped naked, and forcefully nailed to the ground of the city square. From there, he would be trampled, and beaten by the people of the city, or at least those who believed such was righteous. Most of the citizens who were trialed at this time were of the male gender, although females were occasionally subjected to such. The Razulica Period was the earliest 'genocidal' campaign in Sessho's history.

Conflict and Widespread Anarchy

By 1501, famine had crippled the city states of Sessho, poverty became widespread. The Razulica Period had created a schism between the city states that were in contact with one another. The Razulica Period displayed a severe violation of Shinen' Khodo's pacifist nature, and the various interpretations of such divided the city states among themselves. Trade between certain city states was halted,
