Sterlingport's flag has been the same since it was a colonial possession.
FACTBOOK | OPEN AN EMBASSY

"If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself."

The flag always has been, and always will be.
Dammed Marxists running about buggering sheep, and other such mischief. We really must do something about that.

The first official flag of the Confederation of Lylybium. Adapted from the naval ensign already in use, this flag was adopted in 1885. The eleven stripes represent the eleven member nations at the time.

Image
When Namor was admitted in 1907 and Maror split from it in 1910, this thirteen stripe flag replaced the 1885 version. This remained Lylybium's flag until 1955.

Image
This flag was adopted by the revolutionary Communist Party during the 1955 revolution and became the official flag until a new one was adopted the following year.

Image
From 1956 until 1997, this was the flag of the United Socialist Republics of Lylybium (USRL). The five stars represent the five new nations which replaced the original thirteen.

Image
With the Renaissance of the Confederation came a new flag. Known as 'Il Stella Grande', it is intended to resemble a five pointed star, representative of the five nations of the Confederation of Lylybium.

Announcement From Vinage

The Grande Pai of Vinage wishes to present the history of our flags and a brief explanation on the reason for these changes.

Prior to 632

There was no formal flag of Vinage or surrounding nations until unity was sought by similar people.

632 to 661

Image

The Rashidun Caliphate unified several lands of Arabic descent and controlled them under a religious perspective.

661 to 750

Image

As the Rashidun dynasty came to an end it was replaced with the Umayyad Caliphate which spread the Arabic Empire across more of Northern Africa and pushed into Southern Spain.

750 to 868

Image

The Abbasid Caliphate overthrew the Umayyad who had lost the capital city of Baghdad to the new Caliphate. However the Egyptian provinces of the Empire broke away as it sought greater autonomy.

868 to 909

Image

Several provinces of modern Vinage split further from the Abbasid Caliphate due to the internal conflict in the Abbasid reign. This was the Tulunids reign of Vinage.

909 to 1171

Image

Shi’a Islam grew across much of Northern Africa and the territories of Vinage. The previous Tulundis reign weakened and sought the unity again that the Fatimid Caliphate brought.

1171 to 1341

Image

The death to the final Fatimid Caliphate brought a leadership and dynasty change with the Ayyubid family under Sultan Saladin. However after his death came further splits.

1250 to 1517

Image

The Mamluk aristocracy grew in power during the Ayyubid dynasty and formed the spine of the military. The Mamluk used Imperialist invasions into surrounding lands in order to rise and split the Ayyubid dynasty ruling alone for the first time.

1517 to 1826

Image

The Ottoman Empire began to expand its provincial control and captured Mamluk Egypt. However, Egypt and the Mamluk influenced parts would always be a hard state for the Ottomans to control.

1826 to 1923

Image

As Egypt had gained further independence and autonomy from the Ottoman Empire, the flag for the entire state was changed to reflect this.

1923 to 1958

Image

Egypt had now gained full independence and broke from the Ottoman Empire the flag, again, changed to show this to the World.

1958 to 1971

Image

Unity and closer political ties between Egypt and Syria brought closer Unity and another flag change

1971 to 1984

Image

As Syria succeeded the unification, Egypt was again alone and began to fragment from within slowly.

1984 to 2010

Image

The union of the Egyptian states was uneasy. On the eastern side of the Nile River came great prosperity and wealth. The Arab population began to distrust the western population and the states broke away in 2010.

2010 – Civil War

Image

Through a Military led Coup, the Egyptian states of Suez, Port Said, Ismailia, North Sinai and South Sinai declared joint independence under the nation of Vinage. A Civil War soon ensued to decide the future of Vinage and Egypt.

2010 - Post Civil War

Image

As the Military and former Arabic class swept across much of Egypt it claimed the further provinces of Cairo, Qalyubia, Monufia, Gharbia, Karf el-Sheikh, Dakahlia, Sharqia and Damietta. As the Civil War and chaos maintained the leadership wished to fly a new flag with this bringing in aspects from all of the provinces.

2011

Image

As the nation of Vinage settled as the highest ranked Military Officer, the current Grande Pai, was selected to lead the nation of unified states. This flag was proudly unveiled as a warning to rivals that the blood spilt since being first suppressed since 632 has not been forgotten.

Future rules state that the flag may be changed as every new leader is selected by whatever means the State does decide. This is to reflect the movement of power between different regions which shall always battle for dominance. At current the Grande Pai’s home of Suez dominates due to its important exports and tactical positioning.
