X this. I have decided to use less space (aka unrealistic) tech. At least it wasn't dilithium crystals.

This is used for large scale power reactors and units down to the size of personal vehicles. Batteries are used below this physical size.

You do realise that such an "engine" would violate the laws of physics don't you?

It was a concept idea I read about and chose to like. And yes, it says right at the very top that it is a fantasy nation with access to non actual-production tech ;)

What methods do you use to power you nation?
Wind (52%), Water (29%), geothermal (19%). All vehicles (military, private, governenmental) must be powered electrically or by fuel cells.

Are they eco-friendly or not?
Yes.

Are you still dependent on petrol?
Completely free except for aircraft, which use synthetic jet fuel.

Do you accept nuclear power as an option?
No. If weapons and naval ships count, yes.

If not why?
The risks outweigh the benefits, and uranium is a non-renewable resource.

Any special and/or unique ways of producing energy? Which?
Not really, but I am sure people in rural areas use some clever innovations.

Oh, I know this is FAR from the concept I proposed above but...

http://www.mnn.com/earth-matters/energy ... -in-the-us

Thats the basic idea, but with higher UV levels produced from a laser increasing efficiency further. Yes, impossible tech. Fantasy nation ;) Our soldiers wear mini Gundam suits :D

Edit:
This may be the original article I read. Cant remember:

What methods do you use to power you nation?
Solar, geothermal, and hydroelectricity are the main sources of power in our nation, with wind and other types of clean energy present.
Are they eco-friendly or not?
Yes, only clean and renewable energy sources are allowed.
Are you still dependent on petrol?
We phased out oil completely 107 years ago.
Do you accept nuclear power as an option?
No.
If not why?
Nuclear power was banned at the national level because of concerns for its safety and waste disposal issues, and the protest that such a facility is not a viable option in a densely packed city-state wherein the plant would be in the immediate vicinity of hundreds of thousands of people, with the threat of a meltdown too risky given our propensity for volcanic eruptions, intense flooding, earthquakes, and tsunamis. It would not be possible to remove an estimated 40 million people from the area should such a catastrophe occur.
Any special and/or unique ways of producing energy? Which?
We've developed a way to have sidewalks/footpaths to absorb the kinetic energy created as people walk across, and have such technology currently in use on all streets in Tsvarchi, including roadways and subway stations.

Bear in mind that Chunc is a pretty much fantasy nation with access to technologies in concept stages but currently not in production. Even so, I have decided to reduce the tech level to "Futuristic yet possible" from "No way, Jose".

What methods do you use to power you nation?
50% Solar power. All buildings have extremely high-yield solar panels, of a type not yet realistically available.
30% Geothermal.
20% Wind Power.

Are they eco-friendly or not?
Yes, apart from the disposal of dead mega-solar panels etc. Refurbishment is used wherever possible.

Are you still dependent on petrol?
To some degree, fuel is required for heating purposes. In the nation of Chunc, fossil fuel is not a natural commodity, and Chunc maintains no trading links with fuel-rich nations. Needs must etc. What few oil resources Chunc has are used in plastic manufacture.

If you are still dependent on oil are you trying do find more eco-friendly solutions?
N/A

Do you accept nuclear power as an option?
No

If not why?
Only because nuclear material is not a natural resource of Chunc and it is a very isolationist nation other than to sell products outwards.

Any special and/or unique ways of producing energy? Which?
Personal vehicles use battery tech similar to today's but with much higher energy capacity, and a far more efficient KERS system.
