Traditionally the peoples of the CISR generally used a trinomial; clan name, personal name, patronym. Since the revolution the decline in tribal ties has lead many citizens to invent clan names or to use the name of their commune or other group they identify with in it's place.

For example, former chairman Borat Revmiruly Taşbatyr, the proper localized expression his name would be Taşbatyr Borat Revmiruly.

The typical kangan naming format dates back to the time when the FKR was split into 4 separate kingdoms, each ruled by the 4 different species of kangaroos. The standard naming format is [First Name] [Species Name] [Last Name]

The first names are usually just germanic names that have been respelled so that the pronounciation is relatively the same in Kangan as it is in the language which the name comes from (if necessary)
Examples:
Kirby -> Kørbi
Børge -> Børge
Ingeborg -> Inneborg
Avery -> Evri

The Species name (or middle name) can range from any of the following 4:
Wudar - Eastern Grey Kangaroo
Norekxezix - Western Grey Kangaroo
Ruzakvax - Red Kangaroo
Antaero - Antilopine Kangaroo
Other species that live in the Kangaroo Republic that have Kangan names usually lack having a middle name. The middle names, as stated before, date back to the time when there was still heavy segregation between the 4 kangaroo species.

Last names usually follow the western format. They may be place names, professions, geographic features, patronymic or body characteristics.
Examples:
Kroeken (Place name)
Amerar (Profession)
Daenbruk (Geographic feature)
Erikzun (Patronymic)
Raunn (Body characteristic)

Utilizing the western naming style, we have first, middle, and last names. If speaking to a ranked person (ie. you are a civilian speaking to someone in the military) or if speaking to someone of higher rank than you (ie. private vs. colonel), you use the person's military rank. For civilians, courtesy is applied and Mr./Ms./Mrs. is used.

Until their rise to maturity, children are known in full by their: Given Name | Patronym | Mother's Family Name.
At their maturity celebration, they chose their adult name, in full: Given Name or Nickname | Patronym or Matronym | Father's, Mother's, Grandfather's, or Grandmother's Family Name | Tribe Name.

For example, the child known as Hendric Gerhards Wáfëlbackër could at his ceremony become known as Bernhard Gertruyds Ruygroc van þë Wolvën.
Usually, Yannians only use their first name, and one of their last names, e.g. Bernhard van þë Wolvën.
Yannia's nation page contains an error. The population should be in millions, not in billions.

First name - Middle name(s) if given - Surname.

If a woman gets married, they have three choices: (a) they can keep their maiden name, (b) they can take their husband's name, or (c) they can double-barrel their surname.
Please note: Central Lothian is the direct successor to Mid Lothian*. As a result, I am still called Rebecca, I am still a Grammar Nazi and most information pertaining to ML also applies to CL (although I will be taking this time to change a few things).

* - And I may refer to the country as Mid Lothian. If I do, assume that I mean Central Lothian. (And not to be confused with "Midlothian" - I'm using that as a fascist version of CL.)

Formally in scripts and Offical papers you put Government title , First, Middle, Last

Example: Student lumus C jorhan, Soldier Gremenskal T krachov, etc

people with no title ( like children ) do not put the title in front of the name

First name, second name and sometimes even a third name, then the surname.
When people are talking casually they usually just say the first name or sometimes the surname.
When it is more formal people say miss or mr depending on gender.
In the military it is rank and surname.

The Anglo-Saxon Union has moved away from the classic first name/last name for a newer and nationalist approach. After the Naming Act of 1753, a hundred years after the establishment of the Nationalist gov't, all citizens are named like this:
Personal Name|Father's or Mother's name-son/daughter, depending on gender,|Family Name
i.e., John Jacobson Instarr, or Matilda Morgandaughter Instarr. Usually in public they will be reffered to John Instarr or Matilda Instarr.
Dominions of the Union:
The Commonwealth of Australaysia
The Dominion of Kanaedia
The Republic of Sothe Afrika

Chunc has pretty much made up names, albeit based on the traditional language of the indigenous peoples. There are no 'male' or 'female' names, and Chuncians laugh at those with gender specific names. No surnames are ever used and because of the automation of childcare, most Chuncians do not know who their parents are.

Arborlawnish names are based on the names of the father and mother. The names denote your father's family and mother's family as well as the branch you are in. It can be confusing, but that is just how we do it.

Usually, there is a personal name + your mother's last name + your father's last name + a family branch if there is one.

For example.

Regani Goni Kali marries Petra Gianna Alai. If they had a son, they would name be along the lines of Gionno Alai Kali. If they had a girl however, it would be different. They would name the girl something like Staci Alai Kali. But when married to a man, lets say, David Alani Frangi, if they had a boy it would be something like Gradi Alai Frangi Di Popham (Di Popham shows the branch and is not part of the last name) . If it was a girl they had, it would be something like Gianna Alai Frangi. And of course it would carry on.
An eye for an eye and the whole world's blind. That's why you take both eyes and run.

Whatever the parents decide. For native-born citizens, it's generally in the order given-name family-name, with any prefixes or suffixes as situationally necessary. However, as immigrants often have other naming conventions, and because individuals can have any number of given names, and just generally to aid in legibility, surnames are customarily written in all caps. Petro LUDOVIKO is Peter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ludoviko, but in rare cases he might be known as LUDOVIKO Petro.

Married women generally take their husbands' surnames, occasionally suffixing nask. maiden-name (naskiĝita, akin to "née"), particularly if known professionally or if born into "important" families. If Petro marries Maria BERKEJO, she'd be Maria LUDOVIKO (or possibly Maria LUDOVIKO, nask. Berkejo (she might even elect to remain Maria BERKEJO, but Pete and Maria probably won't be welcome in polite company if she does). When same-sex couples marry, the custom is similar: if Maria were instead Mario, they probably would stay Petro LUDOVIKO and Mario BERKEJO, but if there's a clear power dynamic in the relationship, they might both go as Ludovikos (or Mario LUDOVIKO nask. BERKEJO, if they really want to drive the point home. Hyphenated surnames are never used; a wife (or subordinate husband) who wants to use both names is expected to use the "nask." convention.

Members of the nobility generally drop their surnames altogether, using the name of their estate in its place. If Petro and Maria become Earl and Contessa of Salgio, he'd go as Petro, Grafo Salgio or Grafo Petro el Salgio. Maria would be Maria, Grafino Salgio (she would be Grafino Maria el Salgio only if the estate is conferred after their marriage; the former is correct whether she holds the title by virtue of marriage or her own right; if Maria were already Baroness of Altrio when she married Count Petro, Baronino Maria el Altrino, Grafino Salgio would be allowed). Their children, Paŭlo and Katarina, would go as Paŭlo Salgio and Katarina Salgio during their childhood and/or as long as presumptive heir to the estate (which would probably be Paŭlo for some of his adult life). However, if Petro dies and in his will names Katarina to succeed his Earldom, then she'd become Katarina, Grafino Salgio and Paŭlo would revert to Paŭlo LUDOVIKO (with the optional suffix "el Salgio" if he's a spoiled little brat who can't let go). An heir to multiple estates (such as if Maria were a Baroness as above) would generally go by the highest-ranked, unless the context necessitated a lower one (no one would say "Paŭlo Salgio is heir to the Barony of Altrio," but would call him "Paŭlo Altrio" in that case, although that Barony would probably pass to Katarina). And if a bunch of Petro's cousins had estates of their own, and they decided to form a noble House of Ludovko, he might go as Petro, Grafo Salgio, el Noblaj Ludovikoj.

Lia Majesteco, Imperiestro Arĉjo I ("His Majesty the Emperor Arĉjo I") has no family name, as he was an orphan prior to unifying the various nations within the Empire; "Arĉjo" is his full legal name. He was raised by monks of La Ordo Sanktamantio (Order of St. Amandus), so is occasionialy referred to as Arĉjo el Sanktamantio (especially within the Church of Artoonia, see below). However, he has by decree established that his descendents should form the dynastic House of Vulpo, so L.M. Imperiestro Artunia Arĉjo I el Imperiaj Vulpoj ("H.M. Emperor of Artoonia Arĉjo I of the Imperial House of Vulpo") is theoretically correct, although never used. But calling him "Arĉjo VULPO" would be just an egregious breach of protocol.

Common titular prefixes include
  • S-ro (Sinjoro, "Mr.")
  • S-no (Sinjorino, "Mrs."/"Ms.")
  • F-no (Fraŭlino, "Miss")
  • D-ro (Doktoro, "Dr.") -- D-no (Doktorino) is, strictly, the title for a doctor who is a woman, but rarely used, as "D-ro" is gender-neutral and acceptable with men and women. "D-no" is generally used only if the doctor's name is not clearly female, or the person naming her is patronizingly misogynistic.
  • Frato, "Brother", and Fratino, "Sister", are common in religious orders, generally preceding given names (Elizabeta MARTINO becomes a nun named Fratino Elizabeta), as those taking holy orders generally abandon surnames, or use the name of their Order (David, a Brother of the Order of St. John, would be Frato David el Sanktulo Johano, or Frato David, O.S.J.) in its place. Generally, none of the names are capitalized in such a case, since the function of pointing out the family name is moot, and the title is common enough a word that the given name part should be easy enough to pick out.
  • Titles of nobility: in descending order Duko, Markeso, Grafo, Vikonto, Barono, are landed estates, and addressed by title as explained above; Kavaliro is any knight in title only, addressed as "Sinjoro" (spelled out, to avoid confusion with "S-ro"; ladies are "Damo") plus full name (Orders of Knighthood optionally afterwards), like Sinjoro Timoteo GORDONO, O.L (Order of the Laurel).
  • Military ranks: Ŝ-ro Mateo ANDREO, L.M.M. is Ŝipestro ("Captain") Matthew Andreo, L.M.M. (Lia Majesteca Mararmeo, "His Majesty's Navy").

(I speak for the general empire, not just this colony on this)

Typically, it goes

First name_Second name_Last name_Identification number

1) First name- this is given at birth by the parents.
2) Second name- this is given when the child turns 16, it is based on their personality and actions.
3) Last name- this is inherited from the male parent. When a woman marries, she adopts her husband's last name.
4) ID#- Begins with the number of the universe they were born in (1-102), then the number of the galaxy they were born in (amount of galaxies varies from universe to universe, then the sector number, then the system number, then the planet number, and finally the person's own number, usually an 11 digit number.

In the case of the military, a rank comes before the name.

Example:

Commander_Aris_Acer_Carbo_1-1,243,197,501-110,012,243,567-5-18,276,154,785

Technically speaking, each citizen of Rokartia has seven or eight legal names:

1.) Arbitrary given name assigned at birth
2.) Name based on some quality of the baby assigned at birth
3.) Nickname given only to soldiers based either on primary tour of duty or major military accomplishment
4.) Nickname often based on profession chosen at the age of twenty-five
5.) Nickname of the parent of the same sex
6.) Nickname of the parent of the opposite sex
7.) Clan name of the parent of the same sex
8.) House name of the parent of the same sex

In regular discourse, however, only the first and second names are used, with the rest being reserved for legal and professional purposes.

Yenisy uses Russian naming conventions. A person's legal name consists of a given name, followed by a Patronymic name (your father's first generally ending with the suffix "ovich" for a male or "ovna" for a female) follwed by a surname. A person may have more than one given name, although this is fairly uncommmon.
