Embassies in the Armed Republic

[Salzland]

(OOC: Transfering my Embassy thread into the new II Forum, just in case Jolt goes belly-up. Note that applications will be screened, and I reserve the right to reject embassies on a case-by-case basis)

On behalf of the government of Salzland, I would like to invite all countries of the world to establish embassies in our great nation, in the interests of building international relations, establishing trade, and exchanging cultural values with the world.

Salzland is a Constitutional Republic with a President, bicameral legislature and independent judicial branch. We believe in a free market, a small government dedicated chiefly toward ensuring the common defense, and striving to uphold human rights.

Embassy sites have been designated along Alliance Boulevard in the city of Rostgard, a mere four blocks from the Capitol building and the Salzland High Court. Additional locations are available along the National Drive, within a half mile of the Salzland Ministry for Foreign Relations building.

We have very few conditions for aspiring nations; chiefly that belligerent nations do not place embassies in the immediate vicinity of each other if possible, and that explosives are strictly prohibited, in the interests of general safety and security. Security outside the embassy grounds will be provided by Salzland Civil Defense personnel, though it should be noted that three divisions of the Salzland Defense Force Marines are based around the city, along with various armored, naval and aerospace defense units. Embassy protection is of paramount importance to the government of Salzland.

Embassy Security personnel are capped at 35, and diplomats and staff are capped at 75 individuals. Immediate families are not counted in these limits. Temporary waivers of the staff and diplomat limits are available, as long as requested beforehand. All embassy personnel are extended at least some diplomatic protections, though the Salzland government reserves the right to declare any individual 'Persona non grata,' and immediately deport them to their country of origin.

Dystopian Polymarchy- In, if you lose the rail guns. I recognize that warship-scale rail guns exist in real life presently (Though seriously, you made a weapons-grade rail gun with copper wire and refrigerator magnets? Come on), but electro-magnetic projectile weapons are not permitted in embassies in Salzland. I try to limit the amount of heavy artillery that is brought in, especially in the unlikely event that nations with neighboring embassies become hostile with one another, and hypersonic infantry-portable weapons are something that will be excluded.

I don't let in grenades, rockets, det. cord, C4 or any other high-damage weapons systems either, so it's nothing personal.
