The United Socialist States of Horsefish!
Geography
The small but mighty socialist union of Horsefish can be found deep within the depths of rural Somerset, but it is rumored to be centered around the hive of industry and socialist leanings that is Frome.
The most retched hive of scum and villiany in the universe..
People and Population
The state of Horsefish has one permenant resident who has occupied the territory for 17 years and is the oldest inhabitant. Last year saw regular vists from a member of Frome on "diplomatic" missions. However these have stopped and Horsefish has lost it's diplomatic ties within the Frome community although these look to being re-established in the not too distant future.
Education in Horsefish is viewed as parmount importance to escape the Shelf-stacking career and as such the whole population of Horsefish is in full time education attempting to pass it's A-Levels.
Economy
Due to the small population and size restraints the economy of Horsefish is small but growing fast. National income has jumped from £300 PA a year ago to around £4579.20. This is of course only the leaglly decleared income as imperialist policies have put certain methods of income in Horsefish in jepordy and forced them underground.
Currently industry in Horsefish is dedicated to learning and mastering the ancient art of Shelf-Stacking although this is proving frustrating and will only be pursued for another year or so. Most of this income is spent on food for the population along with entertainment in the form of substances, DVDs, CDs and books for the population. This keeps the members of the Socialist State happy and content although the money always seems to dissaper mainly at the weekend. This irregularity is currently being investigated by the head of finance.
History
The history of Horsefish has few notable events:
- -After Horsefish's founding on June the 6th 2010 the country immediatly voted to cede all power and control over to the resident of the region know only as "Harri". This mysterious figure has remained the head of the state since it's inception.
-One key event however was the war with Horsefish's sister nation over the large, now vacant provience nearby. This was bitterly fought by both size with age and rights beign called into question. This issue was only resolved when the msot senior region promised Horsefish a TV for their provience, a privledge previously denied. This issue still causes divisions between the nations in the region.
-More recently, with the departure of the diplomatic representive of Frome the territory has seen many changes. Incursions to certain areas of intrest within Frome have increased and people seeking temporary shelter within it's borders have increased (although all have been granted).
Military
Horsefish's military is currently a work in progress. it's sole member is well versed in tackling people to the floor which comes from his extensive experience on the Rugby field but possesses little combat experience. However, what the military lacks in experience he makes up with imtimidation factor and being able to run away (very fast) from threatening situations which is a constant threat in the nearby town of Frome.
Government and Political structure
Founding date:Horsefish was decleared officaly founded on June the 6th 2010, a date that will live on as a date of major national pride after seizing control from the vile imperialists occupying Horsefish at the time.
Govt type: Horsefish is founded upon egalitarian and socially libertarian views, though all run under a benign dictatorship.
Capital city: Bedselvania
Administrative aims: Most of Horsefish's administrative capabilities is put to maintaining sanitation of Bedeslvania, although a brach has appeared expressing claims over the nearby provience of Spare-roomelsvania.
National holidays: Every other weekend in Horsefish is observed as a national holiday and is celebrated as such-It is this time that most of the GDP dissapers and has drawn the attention of the finance minister.
Communication
Horsefish contains 1 TV with access to freeview, althoug it's access to the internet is in the nearby provience of Spare-Roomeslvania. Landlines are unknown in Horsefish although all residents have access to a mobile phone (used rarely). Radio is unheard of in Horsefish as most music on the stations offends "Harri's" ears. An extensive CD collection are regurly played at full volume to the detriemnt of the nearby regions mental health.
Horsefish maintains strong links to a few members of the international stage chosen due to their simaler circumstances and awsomeness. These include (but aren't limited to): Staenwald, Georgism, St. George and many others.
The mysterious leader known only as "Harri"
