North African Map [Closed - For North African Nations Only]

Postby Vinage » Sun May 15, 2011 9:30 am

Map of North Africa

Fellow leaders from North Africa! I have been working endlessly with my assistant to detail the map for our nations within the region and stop any border conflicts! It should help us trade shouldn't it? Right? Anyway... let me just attach the map:

[OOC: A big map is drawn here & Its Updated! -> http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu16/louiswilliams/MapofNorthAfrica-9.jpg ]

Leaders of North Africa please do write where your nations borders are and please be as detailed as possible when telling me! I get confused quite easily with all the noise in the office. I think they are doing construction down the road as well which doesn't help.

Be reasonable with me as well! No trying to trick me saying you've got land much bigger than it really is. That makes me grumpy and when I get grumpy? Borders get smaller. Just ask my assistant he'll vouch for me.

So right! Be reasonable. Be detailed. Be happy! We like happy in this office!

In Duty and Cheer,

Cartógrafo Superiores, Denlan Jumbango

Our lands are in the northern tip of Morocco near Spain and follow the coastlines very closely

Postby Nigraana » Mon May 16, 2011 4:38 pm

Most of the Gullahs' early ancestors in what is now the United States were brought to the South Carolina and Georgia Lowcountry through the ports of Charleston and Savannah as slaves, making their way from Sierra Leone by way of Brazil. Charleston was one of the most important ports in North America for the Transatlantic slave trade. Up to half of the enslaved Africans brought into what is now the United States came through that port. A great majority of the remaining flowed through Savannah, which was also active in the slave trade.

The largest group of enslaved Africans brought into Charleston and Savannah came from the West African rice-growing region, centered primarily in Sierra Leone through the most significant slave castle for the modern day United States called Bunce Island. The people had cultivated African rice in this section of West Africa for possibly up to 3,000 years. South Carolina and Georgia rice planters once called this region the "Rice Coast", indicating its importance as a source of skilled African labor for the North American rice industry. Once it was discovered that rice would grow in the southern U.S. regions, it was assumed that enslaved Africans from rice-growing regions in Africa would be beneficial, due to their knowledge of rice-growing techniques.

In 1750, Henry Laurens and Richard Oswald opened the most significant slave castle just up the Sierra Leone river on what was then called Bance Island, and is now called Bunce Island. Here is where up to 80% of African Americans in the United States whose heritage comes from the slave trade are believed to have derived.

Leaders of great Nations I have been working with my assistant again and they've drawn up where your lands are! Seems he is being good today... maybe I should give him a raise? We'll see I guess!

Anyway I've updated the map for you all!

[OOC: Another Big Map Drawing Here and and the one above have new colours on it - http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu16/louiswilliams/MapofNorthAfrica-4.jpg ]

Will I be doing anyone else before I fall asleep at my drawing table again?

Greetings Leader! I have coloured your borders in myself! A lovely yellow as well because I thought yellow suited you well. I quite like yellow but don't tell the Grande Pai since he LOVES red. Really loves red. Not like Stalin red just... blood red. I think he might be... oh here he comes!

Greetings Leaders of North Africa!

I've updated that lovely map with your boarders. I hope you like them since my assistant did them again and sometimes I don't really trust him sometimes since he's so quiet. You know what they say about the quiet ones don't you? Oh well... if he goes mad I guess I can replace him. Not like there are people clamouring to work with me.

Anyway.... who else am I drawing in today?

My people are a group of displaced Coptic nomads, so could you put us somewhere in the oasis regions of Egypt? The oasis rich region is in the desert part of Egypt just outside the immediate nile valley region.

Thank you for your time,

Map-Drawing

My fellow leaders from North Africa, isn't today a lovely day? So warm here in the capital and with a nice sea breeze! I've updated that lovely map with your new borders, like them? I did these ones personally again since my assistant has been out celebrating his Birthday recently. I thought I'd give him the day off, you know, because I am a nice boss. Now... lets keep these border marks coming. Don't forget you can ask for ANYWHERE on that map... I'm not going to judge. I like drawing in new places.

Hello leaders in North Africa! I've had my assistant redraw the borders for one of you and then mark in yours Libyan Republic. Now I've put you next to Gadaffi so... you better not go causing any trouble now! I suspect we'll end up with some international incidents otherwise and if its over that boarder? I'll get the blame! I always get the blame it seems.

Good Morning Leaders!

Such a lovely day here again, seems to always be that way at the moment. Now then.... I have drawn in Falseelk's borders in North Africa but am unable to do yours Border Runners. The Aouzou Strip has already been taken by African Bushmen. You could go left, right or north of it if you wanted? They are nice little places as well leader!

As for you Moammar El-Gadhaffi.... your territories should grow when you reach a landmark in population. So when you reach 500 Million it will grow naturally, unless you were surrounded on all sides. Though... you could take it from your neighbour but I warn you... they might win and take land off you. That wouldn't be very good would it? Would end up with less land and sad people.

Anybody after one of those lovely Mediterranean islands or some land in the Arabian Peninsula?

Greetings! I would like for my nation to be placed anywhere along the coast that boarders the Mediterranean Sea, preferably the land East of Achmel Abdiwali and South of the Khat Dealer.
UNLESS, I am unsure of how far into Europe we are allowed to be settled, but if it is allowed, I would like my nation to based in Sicily, along the coast.
Many thanks!
