Should Esperanto be an Official Auxiliary Language?

Postby Sebastianalandia » Wed May 11, 2011 7:02 pm

An issue was brought up in the Supreme Soviet recently regarding the oft-disputed status of "International Auxiliary Language" that is claimed by Esperanto.

Some members of the Communist Party feel this language shoulf be endorsed for the sake of internarional solidarity (heaven knows, no-one speaks Archaic Zebaschanitzean...)

So, nations of the world: Should this language be made an officially-recognized auxilliary language?

International Solidarity? Pfft, we Saurisians aren't into that crap. International Trade, we support, but Internationalism, we laugh at. People who advocate this nonsense are typically laughed at.

It honestly depends if there are other nations who commonly use the language, which we doubt is very much.
I’m mostly here for... something to do, I suppose.

Each nation should be a bastion of independence and solitude. That is why we in Purpelia have made up a new language from scratch when we founded our country and keep all it's details secret to non citizens. What you are proposing is just plain silly.
Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

The above post contains hyperbole, metaphoric language, embellishment and exaggeration. It may also include badly translated figures of speech and misused idioms. Analyze accordingly.

Lilaktia seconds this statement. If you wish to speak Esperanto, then by all means speak Esperanto, but don't go demanding international legal backing that you don't require.
