Military

Texan Armed Forces
The Texas National Defense Force is made up of the Army, Air Guard and Coast Guard. There are currently 528,166 active personnel throughout Texas's three service branches with an additional 900,000 thousand reservists.


-Army

The Army is the main service branch of the Texas Military and is responsible for all land based military operations. In 2011 it was reported that 1,008,166 men and women served in the Army. Of those one million men approximately 350,000 are deployed on active duty in military bases throughout Texas and bases abroad. The remaining 650,000 serving in the ground based branch of the Texan military are reservists. Reserve forces are kept at peak levels of readiness by a strict training schedule for the duration of their enlistment.

-Texas Air National Guard

The Texas Air National Guard is the branch of the Texan military responsible for aerial warfare. While its main duty is the protection of sovereign Texas air space the Air National Guard is capable of operating as an offensive force as well. In 2011 there were an estimated 180,000 active duty personnel and a further 80,000 reservists the Air National Guard.

Economy

As of 2011, The Republic of Texas had a gross domestic product (GSP) of $4.8 trillion placing it as the _____ largest economy is the world. Its Per Capita personal income in 2009 was $34,800, ranking ____ in the world. Texas has a relatively large population of 137 million, an abundance of natural resources, and a very diverse geography. All coming together to help create a large and diverse economy. Oil however is the mainstay of the economy. With reserves estimated around 17 billion barrels the nations economy is heavily influenced on the state of the oil industry.

Mining and agriculture are also extremely important in the Texan economy. With the most, and some of the largest, farms in North America the Republic of Texas is among the top producers of grain and livestock. Fishing is also an important commercial industry
