Intense stress, very little personal time, an absolute deluge of issues requiring personal attention, the odd assassination plot, and having to deal with Communists, Fascists, and so on.

There's more, but those are some of the big ones faced on a daily basis.

The worst part of being the Party Secretary is dealing with the Political Bureau.

This minister or that always seems to need additional funding for a particular pet project. This makes balancing the budget rather difficult.

Yes, we've dealt with our fair share of asshole foreign nations who talked about using meteors and such against us. Needless to say, we dealt with such nations by nuking them out of existence.
