Employment Hours: Part Time, Full Time

Postby Monetar (Ancient) » Fri Apr 22, 2011 8:47 pm

What are the minimum hours for work needed to be called "Full Time" or "Part Time" employment in your nation?

% of Part-Time employees?
% of Full-Time employees?

People are very hardworking in Ialoclos, and do not complain about the high demands. We work more, in order to earn more.

You do your State-approved community duty. No real distinction, except that extra, unofficial work counts as part-time.

There does not exist a single legal distinction between part-time and full-time employment in the Republics. Records that do record such a difference, usually allow their respondents to answer for themselves without guidelines.

This is left to the company to determine whether their job is considered full-time or part-time.
Please note that Mid Lothian is based on fantasy. Any references to anything/one/where that exists is completely coincidential.
Frequently used abbreviations: HoS = Head of State; HoG = Head of Government; ML = Mid Lothian; KSS - Kate Stephens-Smith.
Fancy an embassy in ML? Click me for details. (PS - I'll return the favour.)
I am usually rewriting stuff about Mid Lothian - just because it's true today isn't necessarily true tomorrow.

Warning - Full-time Grammar Nazi at work. You have been warned. (I guess that's due to my mum being an English teacher. Also, don't use masculine words to describe me - my name is Rebecca, which is clearly a feminine name.)

There is no legal recognition of full-time or part-time employment. Various information collecting agencies have their own standards.

Full-time employment begins at 35 hours a week, with the work taking place on no less than four days. Part-time is anything less. The distinction is fairly unimportant.

The maximum number of hours an adult resident of Makaar may work is 45 in a week, unless they have signed a standard form which allows their employer to demand that they work more than 45 hours per week. It is illegal to discriminate against employees who do not sign this form, or against prospective employees who will not sign the form. The working time limits do not apply to police officers, firefighters, rescue workers, medical staff or the military.
Makaar is ranked 323rd in the world for Most Dedicated Public Healthcare.
Makaar is ranked 272nd in the world for Largest Welfare Programs (per capita).
Makaar is ranked 408th in the world for Nicest Citizens.
