Drunk driving laws in your nation

Postby Roedean » Fri Apr 22, 2011 4:32 am

What is the legal limit at which you are considered over the alcohol limit for driving, and what is the penalty if you are convicted for drunk driving?

The alcohol limit for driving in Roedean is 0.05% in your blood and the penalty if you are convicted for drunk driving is that your drivers lisence in confiscated. You must pay a 30,000 Gella ($5,000) fine in order to get it back.
Disclaimer: The nation of Roedean doesn't represent my actual political views. It's more of a parody.

The legal limit for BAC and driving is .12. In Hanseburg, however, simply driving a car is legal consent and be breathalyzed and have the vehicle searched without cause. In Wittelstein, laws are more civilly protected. Prison time is rare as a result from drink driving, although public corporal punishment, fines, and suspension of driver's license is common.

Drunk driving isn't illegal here. Harming people and damaging property is.

Reckless endangerment of others is a crime here. You'll likely get a ticket, you'll surely spend the night in the cooler, and your license may be revoked. If you wish to be treated like a responsible, intelligent adult, then behave as one. If you actually kill somebody, or cause serious property damage, then more serious charges will be filed. You could even be looking at prison time.

Driving while intoxicated is no more illegal than driving while sad or driving past a distraction. It would be a violation of civil rights to prevent people from doing something that might be harmful. The justice system can only act on real events, not fantasies.

The legal limit for drivers in Minoa (Charlotte Ryberg) is 40 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.. Penalties depend on the severity of the offence. If it is mild then most likely the driver and their car will get a ride home without penalty; whereas if the driver caused death while drink driving then the maximum penalty is life imprisonment.

No matter where you are in Australia, drink driving is treated as a serious offence and any person who is found to be operating a vehicle in excess of the blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.05, may face penalties that range from the suspension, disqualification or cancellation of their licence, loss of demerit ...

Drunk driving is illegal. When you got caught, you have to work 5 years in a reëducation-camp to pay for your irresponsible behavior. When you causes damage, after the first 5 years, you have to work to repay everything. When you have hurt someone, you have to work a single year more for every casualty. When people died, you have to work 5 years for every casualty. When you die while working in camp, your relatives have to pay...

TurtleShroom has enforced a Prohibition on all alcohol since the nation was founded in 1796 AD. As such, alcohol itself is illegal.

This said, drunk driving carries a minimum of five years in prison, tripled for each future offense. If someone is injured or killed by a drunk driver, or property damage ensues that exceeds a certain monetary amount, it becomes a capital crime, punishable by death or up to life in prison.

Private automobiles are rarely used for anything other than governmental, freight, commerce, and postal services. While a state-run enterprise sells automobiles to the government, police, medical, and fire services, they are affordable for anyone. However, because of their lack of any bells and whistles aside from automatic transmission, air conditioning, seatbelts, and airbags, they are not popular when compared to busses or trains.

That leaves imported cars, where both supply and demand are extremely low, making imported cars extremely expensive. Only the rich have this kind of car, because they are the only ones that want and can afford them. Busses and trains are the primary means of travel in TurtleShroom.

Any driving above .07% ABV is illegal, or while under the influence of any type of drugs. If a driver causes an accident or is pulled over for reckless driving with an ABV of .03% or higher, they will also face driving while intoxicated charges.

The first charge carries a fine of $5,000, 1 year of probation, and license revocation. The license can only be restored after 3 years, and after taking mandatory safety courses.

A second offense carries a sentence of 2 years in prison and 10 years license revocation.

A third offense carries a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison, and a lifetime license revocation. If an offender is caught driving while intoxicated after this license revocation, they may face up to 20 years in prison.

The license may be permanently revoked on a first offense if a serious injury resulted from an accident. And offenders may face additional prison time if they caused injury or property damage. Additionally, if someone causes an at-fault accident while intoxicated that causes a death, they may face life imprisonment or execution.

Additionally, anyone with even one DWI charge is banned from ever receiving a commercial driver's license (needed to operate a tractor trailer or a bus)
