OOC: The phrases..."For GOD and Country"...&..."GOD, Country, and Apple Pie" are the basic basis for this thread, and in no way disallows for nations / people who do not pray to, or believe in, anything that resembles or reflects a *GOD*, or the *GOD*; therefore, please feel free to insert the word / concept of "spirit", or "life force", " or essence", or etc in the place of the word "GOD". ( or simple omit the concept of GOD from your reply )

========================

How would the citizens of your nation rank the following concepts of importance or authority:....>
GOD, Family, and Country ?

Example:...............>

In the Commonwealth of Goltzborg, it is generally the belief that our citizens rank the three following concepts accordingly: Country, Family, GOD....1st the most important, 2nd the next most important, and 3rd the least important of all three.

How about your people, how would they rank these three concepts ???

Depends on who we are talking about: Most typically it would be "Family, Nation" or "Nation, Family".

Just like you did there. If they don't believe in God, then it would simply be Family, Country.

It would most likely be as such and rated in such a manner.

God, Country, and Family.

For you have a duty to serve the God-Emperor thus serving the common good of mankind. Then you have your duty to your nation and race as a whole, your are one cog in a well oiled machine. Your family should come after you have fufilled all your duties as such.

Capitalism is always the answer. Whenever there's a problem in capitalism, you just need some more capitalism. If the solution isn't capitalism, then it's not really a problem. If your capitalism gets damaged, you just need to throw some capitalism on it and get on with your life.

Fatatatutian culture is tribal in origin, so we make little distinction between family and nation. In practice, people might tend to give precedence to closer relatives but in principle, everybody on the island is family.

Gods aren't really on the radar at all.

Minoa is a secular country so all persons have equal status in law, subject to limitations recognised by common/criminal law, etc, the obvious stuff: however Minoans may view this differently depending on faith.

Geist, Recht und Solidarität; semantically difficult to translate. Literally, it would be Mind, Law and Solidarity, but the true meaning would be along the lines of Progressivism/Enlightenment/Liberty, Order/Justice/Law and Fraternity/Solidarity/Unity.

Most Frenequestans will put in order "Reason/Logic/Science, Country, and Co-workers/Company". "God" is generally seen as disinterested towards moral affairs and impotent against such things, and therefore does not generally figure. (Although it could be claimed that "Reason/Logic/Science" is an approximate equivalent, although it deals more with individual reason than "group" reasoning.) "Co-workers/Company" outranks "Family" because early Freneq-Joplinian social order emphasized work over kin/romantic relations, and even today a Frenequestan will wince when someone puts the desires of their family over that of their co-workers or company. In fact, schoolchildren are expected to rely on one another for social and moral support rather than just the family.

In general this hierarchy is seen as marbled rather than strictly tiered.
