Ambassador Bio: After fulfilling his obligations as a junior reserve officer, Ambassador Redstone left the military to pursue a career in the foreign service. Though not the most experienced member of the State Department, everywhere he has been assigned he has shown a notable aptitude for quickly learning the key aspects of the local culture, history, and politics. This made him particularly suitable to sorting out New Edom's eccentricities, even as the country undergoes major upheaval.

An appointment from the previous Liberal government, Redstone opposed President DeGroot's meddling in New Edom during the second civil war. Having witnessed the royal family's corruption, the Free Congress' purges, and both sides' more draconian measures firsthand, he was of the opinion that Adiron would be better off not cozying up to either side in the first place. Redstone felt DeGroot should have educated himself more on New Edom's history before deciding to plant an overseas base in a hotbed of instability, in spite of the precedent Estovakiva set.

Lately things have been a bit difficult on our borders. It would seem that the world has far more people in this world then we thought at first; many of which might be future enemies. Considering that we wish to someday achieve our old greatness, it is likely that survival will be impossible without allies. Information on your nation at this moment is half positive and half negative, so it is important we figure out where we stand. If we are in agreement then it is time we form ties, if not then it is time we learn to keep our distance. In the old days you could just look at someone and know what they where like, those days are long dead now.

The "Republics" are Single-party Dictatorships and the "Empires" are Constitutional Republics. Nothing we hear can be taken as right or wrong anymore, the world is grayer then ever. Thus we submit our application, to know more and to improve our chances.

Ambassador Bio: Victor is part of the long known William family which is descended from the ancient emperor of Mag-Nis. Mag-Nis founded the "Old Empire" and his descendants kept it alive for hundreds of years. When the empire fell apart and it was decided to abandon it, they reforged the empire and over the years multiplied a hundredfold and becoming vaguely related. The nobility class was forged from these families and the "William name" went to a family of officers who watched Ethic Support Armies (As well as a few senators). Since they are good with foreigners, The "Williams" send their best and brightest as Ambassadors.

Victor has served five years as a officer in the Vadian Armed Reserve (From signing up at 20), before being asked and moved to the front-lines during a recent police action. He has earned his right to a position like this and is ready for his "next deployment" as he puts it. Recommend you have him look over your forces in charge of defense, he could provide some useful advice.

His family was hit hard by the Velkýladom in the late 70s, which drove him to join the anti-monarchy protests from 1979-1981. Sexual Equality: Covered under absolute anti-discrimination laws... all discrimination is punishable by exile.
Racial Equality: "
Communism: We prefer socialism, but many Olweans are at least sympathetic toward communism, and we have counted many communist nations among our allies throughout our history.
Capitalism: We're not fans, but it's technically legal here.
Fascism: Illegal in Olwe, due in large part to distrust of fascist nations as a result of our experience with our mortal enemies in Karn Evil Nine.
Socialism: It's our governmental model, with some feudal bits thrown in here and there.
Private Property: Protected under extensive anti-theft laws.
Public Property: A canvas for any artist who wants to paint on it.
Alcohol Consumption: Drunk drivers are put to death, but otherwise we're all for alcohol.
Recreational Drug Consumption: As long as it doesn't damage the environment -- if we catch you smoking anything, we'll execute you -- it's fine.
Cloning: Not something we care to dabble in ourselves, but we won't try to stop anyone else either.
Obesity: Disgusting, but not a reason to discriminate against someone. Obese people are protected by the same laws as everyone else, though they are encouraged to get healthy.

Public Nudity: Olwe, as a nation, is clothing-optional. However, many people do wear swimsuits at the very least. Sunburn is, after all, a pretty serious risk here in the tropics.
Carrying Concealed Weapons: As long as they aren't ranged weapons, it's fine. If you're going to fight, fight with honor.
Hunting: See above. If you can't take an animal down with a blade while you're looking it in the eye, you don't deserve to eat it. Recreational hunting is frowned upon as a waste of natural resources and ultimately frivolous exercise.
Homosexuality: We're fine with it, though most Olweans are either bisexual or pansexual, so it's too limiting as a lifestyle choice for many of us.
Use of Mines in Warfare: We try to clean up after ourselves afterward, but we do use them.
Nuclear Arms: Bad for the environment, and therefore banned in Olwe.
Ecology: Our national motto is "Nature Is Our Commonwealth". Does our viewpoint on ecology need any further explanation than that?
Laboratory Testing on Animals: A necessary evil, but heavily regulated by the government so that it is done in the most humane possible way. We also try to get Talking Beasts to volunteer for testing instead of using non-sapient subjects, whenever possible... that way, we can ensure informed consent.

To His Majesty David III, King of New Edom,

On behalf of the Federated Empire of Helladria, I wish to convey my apologies for the deteriorated state of Helladric-New Edomite relations. It is my hope that our nations may again reach an understanding that will allow our respective peoples to mend any ill will, and permit for the beginnings of a rapprochement between New Edom and the Helladric Empire.

The Soldeo Administration has been dealt a major blow with the 2012 Parliamentary elections, and so the duty falls to me to pick up where ohs left off by normalizing our governments' relations with one another. With your country's permission, I mean to reassign Ambassador Frosyni to ohr post in Fineberg. Unfortunately, Helladria's concerns over the safety of Ambassador Frosyni and ohr staff, persist from the time when they were withdrawn last year. To address this issue, the Helladric Empire will assign the maximum permissible security detail to our embassy. Once in place, our ambassador will be tasked with securing several standard diplomatic objectives meant to foster a mutual understanding of our respective governments' expectations, and which will open the door for the possibility of more specific or extensive agreements. We hope that through this spirit of understanding and cooperation, we may be able to 'reset' our nations' relationship.
