OOC: The irony is that later after the Praetorian War I will be a bit like Mass Effect, then Star Wars after that. Anyways is there some real life musician, music writer, Etc. that you have in your nation and plays a ironic role in it? Helghast Empire I am staring at you.
"For too many years, humanity was on the backfoot. Reacting to threats, rather than preventing them. Rest of the galaxy was bigger than us. Stronger than us. We were mice, hiding in the shadows, hoping the giants would not see us. No more. Humanity is no longer on the defense. We are the giants now."

"It is an undeniable and may I say fundamental quality of man, that when faced with extinction, every alternative is preferable."

Our Song of the Republic, the official national anthem, was written in antiquity as a folk melody and lyrics were added after independence in 1923.

Our Song of Reconciliation, a common patriotic song, was formed from the national anthem of the former dictatorship and a song written by Goval Hoxai, leader of the Communist Party of Phing Phong.:

We have Strength,
Under Comrade Thaeklaw
Together, the Phasa Daeng State is
Rising to march on!
Long live the Phasa Daeng State!

Together, Phing Phong shall unite
Under the Glorious efforts of
Comrade Thaeklaw!
Because without him, Phing Phong
Will not be the best place to live on Mother Earth!

There's lightning over Mount Chiang
thunderclaps wildly beat.
Let us stop them, brothers,
They'll just disappear,
the Phing Phongese will revive.

That Phing Phong of ours
Has been fast asleep so far.
But the thunder's lightning
is rousing it
to come awake.

Mary Rhodes (née Bloom) wrote the lyrics for the song some two hundred years ago, during one of the early Nodic Wars.

Remember Rhodesia.

Lyrics:
Smiling
Standing In Circles
Holding Hands
The World Is A Blur
Except When You're With Me

Standing Tall
Amongst My Peers
A Hope Inside
Running In Our Hearts
Wanting To Burst Out The Shell

Wind In
And The Scent Of Our Land
I Yell And Raise My Hand
With My Fist
Pumping Into The Air
Standing United
For My Nation
Standing United

I Sometimes Fall Down
But I'll Always Stand Up Again.

I Sometimes Fall Down
But I'll Always Stand Up Again.

Francis Scott Key, a lawyer and amateur poet wrote The Defense of Fort McHenry which is better known as The Star Spangled Banner; the latter of which is derived from the former. Written in 1814 during the War of 1812 it was put to music written in 1780 by John Stafford Smith.

Nothing ironic about it really.

OOC: Goval Hoxai actually combined the lyrics, while a Syvorjin poet wrote "Lightning over Mount Chiang."

IC: Dear Syvorji, our main anthem was written by a Syvorjin in exile in the early 1970's, and was later adopted as the anthem of a socialist political party. Our other anthem, the Song of Huynma was written many years ago by a Syvorjin, and was adopted many years later. These songs are very popular amongst the Syvorjins, hence why they are anthems.
