Legal and supported by the culture. We believe nations artificially extend childhood several years. They should be developing skills as soon as they are born to become independent people, not locked up in schools where some idiot pretends to teach them something.
Wait an hour, and it will be now again

This, while state, culture, parents and relatives encourages children to go to school: they are not forced. If child aged 5 wants to go and work in a toxic chemical facility: by all means. Not that it is common though.

Sapphista has every Citizen and non-Citizen "working."

Every child is taken away from her or his biological mother at two-three years old, depending on the individual child. These children are then taken to be raised by the Mothers whose only goal in Sapphista is to raise each child to their full potential.

When a child is first able to walk, we introduce it to different exercies for both the mind and body. These exercises are more like play than work. At the age of 12, the female Citizens and the male non-Citizens are separated in their learning exercises (but are still allowed to interact).

During these exercises, these children have been watched closely to see where their strengths and weaknesses lie, along with what interests them and makes them passionate. At the age of 16, the Citizens and non-Citizens are put through a series of different tasks related to different professions that keep Sapphista running. The Mothers first show them professions that will most likely be compatible to their personality and abilities, but each child makes the final decision.

Sapphista works hard to make sure that every Citizen and even the non-Citizens are suited for their professions because our nation has no true currency except for the one we use when dealing with other countries. Each person in Sapphista works in their profession without pay. This is why it's important to make sure each Citizen and non-Citizen enjoys their profession. They are, of course, allowed to change their minds later on, but that has rarely happened.
It is my firm belief that it is a mistake to have firm beliefs.

All work is regulated by the government. If someone is deemed 'physically or psychologically unfit' for a certain job, then they will be denied. (Yes, this is an extremely slow and painful process).
There is no set minimum wage, however, if an employee feels that they are being exploited or given unfair pay, they may file a complaint.
The average pay for someone 15 years of age in a blue-collar environment is approximately USD$13.88/hour.

Yes children are allowed to work but under very tightly controlled regulations.

the earliest time a child can become employed is at the age of 10 but only work 15 hours a week and the money is put into a government account that is set up for the childs earnings. for this reason most children who do work work for the government becuse most businesses don't want to have to transfer the money over. (laziness) furthering that reason children can only work in low risk jobs examples would be towel boy or restroom attendant or file clerk

as for benifits the child will receave medical insurance after one year of employment along with dental

How old must one be...or put another way...how young can one be ??

Not to include the family farm child labor, where all members help out in the production of crops and livestock, and not to include the youth who have paper routes; but more at, occupations that pay relatively good for the talents and energy required. ( i.e. white collar, blue collar, etc )

One may legally begin working at the age of 13. They must be payed at the same rate as anyone else, and it must not interfere with their education. Should the child's grades plummet following getting a job, they are relieved of said job, until their grades rise.
