Health Minister Dr. Alessandra Nobile was a surgeon with the Fatatatutti Relief Organization (FRO). Acting Foreign Minister Carmen "Shimmy" Dykstra was personal assistant to then Foreign Minister Harlan Escrow. Current Prime Minister Escrow used to teach at Fatatatutti University (FU).
The most notable exception is Defense Minister Harmony Chang, whose professional training is as a juggler and clown. She did serve a stint in the military, rising to the rank of Captain in the commandos, before returning to touring with a troupe of clowns, magicians, etc. She was called to Cabinet after her father, Mickey Chang, was elected President.

Probably the most bizarre background a major political figure had was the time when a housecat was elected to the Senate. There was a motion to elect a potted plant before then, but that motion failed by a single vote. A Senator had, due to some dispute with another Senator, nominated his grandmother's cat for membership, the motion being seconded and securing the requisite majority by 3 votes. Senator Whiskers would subsequently cast several tiebreaking votes before finally being expelled in a close vote 3 years later.
