Origination of the Name of Your Nation

[GOLTZBORG]

Goltzborg (o) the nation, and Goltzburg (u) the Capital City of the nation, both have their name of origin based in the former Ruling Family known as the Goltz Dynasty; who were all executed for crimes against the people and state, by the Imperial Militia when it ordered a coup de'tat, prior to the official and formal formation of a Military Junta now known as the Military High Command.

[Maraque]

Tsvarchi means, quite literally, "one community," in Maraquean, because six city-states became one upon unification and foundation.

Each borough is named after the Royal Family that governs those lands; Darkaan, Atrulia, Estakuri, Cuerak, Taerak, Tizutri-Stahnasuk (two royal houses merged).

[Revea]

No one's exactly sure, but there are some suggestions that it comes from the word "revviia", which in the now extinct Evriscan language means "land of the destined dream".

The orgin of the name of the Federation of the Kangaroo Republic is...quite obvious.

[Easterlands (Ancient)]

Easterlands is believed to be a rough translation of the Ancient Rumabak, the language the ancient people spoke, word "Einch Ladin" which litteralay mean "Chirst Land". Another belief for the name is that the main island of the 5 isles is Easter Island, whoch was discovered on Easter Sunday in 200 AD. Since the seat of Government is on Easter Island it is believed that is why Easterlands is the name of the kingdom.

[Old Beringia]

The Old in Old Beringia is a reference to how Beringia was a monarchy before it's admission to the United Provinces of Beringia and Tastifania in 1740 and it's transformation into a federal republic. The adjective "Majestic" was added to the Empire's title upon the ascendancy of Emperor Dux Ducis to the throne in 2003. The standard way to refer to a citizen of Old Beringia is as a Beringian. Although distinctions between citizens of the Empire are not frequently made on the basis of geographical subdivision, Tastifanians and Grand Beringians are always distinguished from other Beringians.

In the old Alkoulian language, Alkoul means strong.

New Free Land, when we seceded from the evil empire that once enslaved us.

[Saurisisia]

Saurisia was given that name by Tyler the Tyrannosaurus, as part of an effort to choose a name that would be an appropriate name for a Dinosaur-led state. The other names considered were "Dinosauria", "Dinotopia", "Dinoisa", and "Reptilon", however, Tyler's suggestion, "Saurisia" was chosen as the name of the new state.

Saurisia is basically "Saur" which means "Lizard" in Greek, and the suffix "isia" was added to sound more nation-like.

[Whiskey Hill]

From the Factbook:

Occupied by British and Italian troops in the First World War, and Italian troops again in the Second, the name of the hill upon which the Grand Duke's citadel stands took on an Anglicized name, Whiskey Hill, given it by the British occupiers, from its original name, Vizçij.

Which has nothing to do with the whisky still the Grand Duke had there and made available to occupying troops now and then.

[Greater Sahara]

Named after the Great Dessert of Sahara.

[Crematoria Necropolis]

Necropolis is the city of the dead, and the dead are the silent majority, but speak loud and clear from a historical perspective, but mankind never listens to history, so we all eventually burn in our own man made crematoria.

[DamNation Cremation]

Nation of the damned and who will burn for all eternity pretty much says it all.

[Ko-oren]

Random letters strung together, and I assigned a meaning afterwards. Ko-oren would mean "golden region" in a language I'm still making.

[Mid Lothian]

IC - The first leader of the country came from Midlothian in Scotland, and he decided to name it after his homeland.

OOC - I was born in Midlothian, and that version was taken.

[Vermmeria]

I thought that this wasn't RP, I thought this was how we players came up with the names, not an RP history. Oh well.

The name Vermmeria originated because Emmeria was taken. So was Ammeria. So Vermmeria it was. And now, several months later, I haven't looked back.

[Souffrance]

Souffrance is the French word for suffering; the name of the prison that was there before the French revolution.
The English family that settled in the abandoned city just accepted the name out of ignorance.
Later leaders used the name to push for emphasis on personal trial and suffering. As a consequence, our citizens are very self-responsible, though the feeling of national unity is low.

[Elipida]

Elipida means "Hope" in greek. The reason why i picked this name was because I love to write stories. "Elipida" is the name of humanity's last habitable planet after the destruction of Earth in my unpublished 300 page book "Scorched Earth: New Era"

[The Southron Nation]

OOC: I'm a Southron and a Southern Nationalist. A Southron is typically anti-federalist and agrarian/laissez fair oriented. Southron is not necessarily the moniker for someone from the South. We have Southern Yankees down here too. A Southron is the opposite of a Yankee.

IC: After the Confederacy defeated the armies of the Union, the Confederate gov't began to assert it's own domination over the Southron peoples. Agast to discover that they had traded one evil State for another potentially evil State, the Governors of the Confederacy began to take initiatives to protect their sovereignty and their people from the Confederate gov't. When Woodrow Wilson was elected president and pressed for entrance into the Great War, the Southron people threw off the shackles of the State as defined by the Confederate constitution. WIlson was arrested by the Governor of South Carolina for treason. A convention was called to amend the constitution or to abolish it. It was cast aside in favor of a new document favoring the Articles of Confederation and Perpetual Union abolished more than a century before by the Union. The articles were renewed and altered to establish a free trade zone inside the borders of the now defunct Confederacy. The Southron Nation was born. A federative network of 12 sovereign republics (states) and 27 Free cities, each operating in complete political independence from the federal gov't in Atlanta. In order to avoid reestablishing a new State, the people of the South harkened to their forefathers and brought forth a new nation built of voluntary association. A Southron nation, with the executive acting as the voice of the people to foreign dignitaries.

In our language, it is traditional to double one or more letters to make a name, and Mythryl is an Elven metal.

[Antarctic Isles]

A group of islands. Located in the Antarctic region. 'Nuff said.

[Guiana Arpeso]

Early explorers thought they had arrived at the Guyannas in South America, so Guiana(Guíana) comes from that. Àrpeso comes from the race of locals, the Àrpesu, whose name means "of Àrpos". Àrpos is the local chief and sea god, the creation of the Àrpesu by folklorists is that they were originally light aqua and were made from the seafoam as a gift for Àrpos' bride to be Muéllos, the sky goddess.
