We've noticed that there are a good many nations here at NationStates which seem to associate with the ideology of Communism / Marxism / Leninism, as well as the nation / state of the former U.S.S.R. and now Russia; therefore, we are extremely curious as to why there seems to be such interest in these various, but related, subjects.

We're just curious to know:................>

Have the rulers of these NationStates ever visited these *Real World* nations ?

Have the rulers of these NationStates ever read the documents / doctrines associated with these *Real World* nations ?

NOTE:
For the record, Goltzborg also has roots dug deep into certain areas of some of these subjects; due in a great part to the fact that we have visited Russia, and have read and studied the Communist Manifesto, and found all to be far more interesting as we had ever hoped for.

OOC: Fatatatutti has never heard of "Marx" or "Lenin" or the "USSR" or any "documents" about Communism. The flag represents the industrial and agricultural workers of Fatatatutti and has been around for more than a hundred years. It has nothing to do with any political party.

The right of the workers to own their own tools is a longstanding tradition that stems from the culture, which is tribal in nature. The political parties all uphold the same traditions and tend to differ relatively little in policy.

OOC: I have indeed been to Russia (Petersburg and Novgorod, specifically), and have studied the Communist Manifesto, Marx's Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts of 1848, etc.

IC: The words of Marx, Engels, and Lenin (and to a lesser extent, that state known as the U.S.S.R.) have reached us through immigrant intellectuals, movies, books, etc. We have never encountered this Soviet Union, despite our searches.

The nation of Stachland does not associate itself with the failed USSR, which was not truly communist in any sense of the word. True Marxism-Leninism is difficult, but is perfectly achievable, and that is what we strive for.

I'll go the OOC perspective for this one.

Communist Russo-Spain isn't all that Communist honestly but relates to it because I want it to I suppose.

I originally associated them with Soviet Russia etc etc, Leninism in perticularly but I dropped off the idea and made up/adopted Pattersonism [see factbook]. My leaders have been to whom I acknowledge as 'the' Russia. James Patterson shook hands with Lenin before he died; told him politely his version of Communism was dead wrong and left. Russia and Russo-Spain didn't get along for some time after that. Le Oops.

while my nation isn't associated with Communism / Marxism / Leninism, however in the way I find out that I'm actually a bit leftist, despite of my democracy ideology. I admit my nation's also influenced by Russia, but not ideologically/politically

We are strongly influenced by these ideologies, though tend to reject Leninism and lean towards the ultra-left. We sent delegates to Russia during the revolution, and they came back with reports that we must not follow Russia's path, so we forged our own. We have Leninist, Trotskyist, and Maoist organizations in our nation.

One thing about us is our extreme-centrism. Meaning we take ideas from far left, right, center; capitalism, communism, anarchism and trying to make something better with it. We do have a communist party, in fact we have the Maoist Party, the Stalinists, the Marxist-Leninists, the Anarcho-Communists and even Trotskyists. They get a small representation in parliament (representative voting) due to their votes but still contribute to running the country. Communists make excellent state employees and help keep the rich elites of our country in check, helped by the estimated 900 million firearms and light weapons in the country in civilian hands alone wich is in itself a guarantee against totalitarian communist-like government. Hence the people are not to be trifled with if you know what i mean. Ugly things happen to freedom-grabbing officials here.

OOC: I've read them a long time ago... i should re-read them. Can't forget such essential historical books. Read the Manifesto, Mein Kampf, the Doctrine of Fascism; and learn to prevent history from repeating itself with it's tyrants.

Our "Communist Party" is instead a large conglomeration of various different ideologies which determine the direction of the Party and the Politburo at every yearly Party Congress. Currently, the democratic socialists and the Marxist-Leninists are neck and neck, with the Marxist-Leninists in a slight lead. Behind them are the Trotskyists, Stalinists, Maoists, Juche socialists and even a few Deng Xiaoping-esque market socialists.
