Large communities in Fatatatutti have their own municipal police services and the Fatatatutti Mounted Police serve the smaller rural communities, so there is no absolutely standard system of rank. However, most of them follow a pattern similar to this:

  • Constable - who patrols a beat
  • Sergeant - who supervises a squad of constables
  • Superintendent - who supervises a detatchment or precinct
  • Chief Superintendent - who supervises a district
  • Chief Constable - who is in charge of the entire force

Detectives, who are members of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID), are usually designated as "Inspector" with a rank roughly equivalent to Sergeant. They are supervised by a "Chief Inspector" (equivalent to a Superintendent) who reports to the district Chief Superintendent.

It depends, since there are multiple law enforcement agencies. You've got the CIA, the FBI, the INS, the US Marshals, and then local agencies. While they generally use the same basic model, the real, exact final structure varies.

Muammar Muhammad al-Gaddafi, also known as Colonel Gaddafi, siezed the leadership of Libya illegally through force of arms on 1 September, 1969. Those who call him the legitimate leader in Libya really need to do some more homework, and perhaps take a good look at themselves morally.

Both sides have problems, and the rebels are certainly working with criminals, but the man they are fighting is not a saint. Remove them both, and let the Libyan people decide. Is it too much to request a little backbone from our leaders in this?
