We have a national government and many municipal governments.

The national governent consists of Parliament and its Ministries and it deals with national issues such as Health and Education.

Municipal governments usually consist of a Council which deals with local issues such as street repairs, etc. Municipal governments are funded by a combination of grants from the national government and local fundraising efforts.

It should be noted that police services are analogous with the military in that they are independent of government. While there is close communication and cooperation between municipal governments and local police, the police services are usually sponsored by non-governmental fundraising efforts and are only beholden to the people.

The Federal government is the overarching legal authority of greater Xanthal, and functions as a unitary authority for Federally Administered Zones. It also administers Federal law in Independent Administrative Zones and has the authority to assimilate such territories into fully-subordinate FAZs if deemed appropriate. The States are semi-independent administrative entities existing under the auspices of the Federal government, which intercedes therein on Federal matters where the States are unwilling or unable and operates Federal services such as the military, public education system, and the country's currency on their behalf. Each State is further divided into legislative and administrative districts in a manner set forth by that State.
