Out Source / Sub Contract Torture

Postby GOLTZBORG » Sun Apr 17, 2011 3:27 pm

If your government has laws against the torture of any enemy of your govt, nation, and people, even if-and-when an enemy has delivered death and destruction to your people and properties,
has your government ever considered the "out sourcing" of such torture techniques, by hiring a
so-called "sub contractor" to secure information on your govt's behalf ?
( i.e. via another govt, and/or a private corp trained in the retrival of info )

When we practiced torture, we questioned the validity of allowing another country (or even worse a private business) to know exactly what information we extract from our enemies. And even though torture is outlawed now, we still hold the same idea.

Our justice system is based on harm. It is illegal to cause harm. It is just as illegal to hire somebody to harm somebody as it is to harm them yourself.

It is illegal for a slave to harm or strike a freeman.
It is illegal for a freeman to harm a slave that does not belong to him.
Owners may do whatever they want with their own slaves.

If we did that, the person who did th ehiring would be classed legally as a co-conspirator, and an accessory.

If we had cause to torture a person, we would almost certainly handle the matter ourselves, to prevent security leaks.
Muammar Muhammad al-Gaddafi, also known as Colonel Gaddafi, siezed the leadership of Libya illegally through force of arms on 1 September, 1969. Those who call him the legitimate leader in Libya really need to do some more homework, and perhaps take a good look at themselves morally.

Both sides have problems, and the rebels are certainly working with criminals, but the man they are fighting is not a saint. Remove them both, and let the Libyan people decide. Is it too much to request a little backbone from our leaders in this?

We indeed torture, though we prefer doing it the old-fashioned way, on our soil deep within secretive government facilities.

All interrogations are conducted in house. Also, we don't use torture, although we reserve to ourselves the right to define "torture" for our legal purposes.

Not officially. However, Inquisitors that seek information from prisoners always are very...creative with that sort of stuff.
