Preserve & Protect Life & Limb: But Who's 1st ?!!?

Postby GOLTZBORG » Sun Apr 17, 2011 2:04 pm

In the Commonwealth of Goltzborg, if anyone's home is being invaded by any un-welcomed individual, the residents can not 'legally' defend themself until such time that the un-welcomed individual actually enters the premises.

One can attempt to scare away the un-welcomed indidivual, and can phone for the police; however, the residents can not, under any circumstances, kill the home invader *until* the home invader has actually crossed a threshold of the property...i.e...window or door of the dwelling, but not an external fence or gate.

Of course, it goes without saying, all that one has to do....would be to kill the home invade as soon as one felt his or her life to be threatened, and then drag the home invader thru the door.
( provided that forensics and detective investigations do not detect any breach of the law )

Do the laws of your nation protect home invaders in the same fashion as done in Goltzborg; or are your citizens allowed to 'legally' defend themselfs and their property from such acts of aggression ?

Property owners and people of Vermont are allowed to use reasonable and "equal" manners to defend themselves and property.

A man's home is his castle, so he is free to kill or wound anyone who intrudes his house to steal things.

Since all Tsvarchivans live in apartment buildings, the 'hallway' of the building is 'common,' so a would be intruder would have to physically enter the residence, in order for the occupants to take action against them.

On the question of legality; yes, potentially lethal force can be used to eliminate an intruder if that intruder is trying to harm you or your family.

People who step on someone's property are subject to all laws and regulations the Landowner himself has decreed for his land. Naturally the Landowner himself enforces his laws.

The concept of "home invasion" is completely foreign in Fatatatutti. The common practice here is the make your visitors comfortable and give them something to eat. Killing a visitor, even if he was uninvited, would be a serious breach of hospitality.

Breaking in to somebody else's home in Loamshire with ill intent means you are taking your own life in your hands, and if you should happen to be killed in the course of the residents defending home and family...

You should have thought about that. We do not punish people for defending themselves from attacks.
