Extermination of a Species

Postby GOLTZBORG » Sun Apr 17, 2011 8:52 am

OOC: Many island nations in the Caribbean proclaim that here are no snakes on their island; which was due to the fact that generations ago the governments imported the mongoose from Africa, and introduced the "snake-killer" to the islands' snake population.

However, nowadays the mongoose has become over-populated, and is viewed my the majority as a rodent / pest; whereby, the governments of some of these island nations are currently seeking to find a means to exterminate the mongoose.

i.e. "Yesterday's Friend is Tomorrows Fiend".

Is your govt now, or has it ever, engaged in the extermination of any animal species ?

If so, what is / was the animal targeted for extermination; and what was the end results of your govt's project ??

No, we do not willfully try to exterminate a certain species in our nation.

Yes, we have done it 5 times now.
Not to an animal species, but humans.
They just seem to keep on coming back though, more for us to kill, happy days indeed.

St. Patrick chased the snakes out of Fatatatutti when he was finished practicing in Ireland. (We're sure they're doing just fine wherever they are now.)

We don't have any mongeese. Sometimes Alphonse pretends to be a monduck and tries to exterminate the turtles but they usually wind up chasing him away.

We'd have no qualms about exterminating malaria-carrying mosquitoes, if we had any. Otherwise, we're pretty careful about preserving our wildlife. You don't get to be "environmentally stunning" for nothing.

Not presently, though some States have tried to curtail the population of things like wolves, coyotes, etc..., but not with total annihilation in mind.

If so, what is/was the animal targeted for extermination; and what was the end results of your govt's project?
In the cases of those local programs, the result was eventually pretty much as desired. Less of the species in question.
Muammar Muhammad al-Gaddafi, also known as Colonel Gaddafi, siezed the leadership of Libya illegally through force of arms on 1 September, 1969. Those who call him the legitimate leader in Libya really need to do some more homework, and perhaps take a good look at themselves morally.

Both sides have problems, and the rebels are certainly working with criminals, but the man they are fighting is not a saint. Remove them both, and let the Libyan people decide. Is it too much to request a little backbone from our leaders in this?

There has been no extermination of species with intelligence in our known history: however many speicies without intelegence has been exterminated from various parts, some unintentionally some unintentionally.

Not officially; unofficially, both flora and fauna alike were killed when a Rainforest was deforested for uranium mining purposes

If so, what is/was the animal targeted for extermination; and what was the end results of your govt's project?
We weren't targeting animals though some were certainly killed. The result is some species are nonexistant in Wolfmanne or have their numbers severely decreased.

Species extermination is strictly forbidden in 2010 Republican Constitution and is in the same level as genocide.

Even if we have to, it is must be an invasive species and dangerous to the other species, to the wildlife and environment. Such act also must get an approval from the parliament through referendum.

Attempting to keep agricultural pests out of Thurask is commonplace. The level of growth/eradication has stabilized to keep the pest population low. Alternatively, old textbooks under the previous regime labeled "capitalists" as "small, slimy, parasitic creatures in the phylum Annelida which were exterminated with the reforms of the glorious Supreme Leader in the 1940s".

We never exterminate species. However if an animal species is becoming to large in numbers then we may occassionally cull them to protect the rural agricultural economy.

In he past, farmers tried to exterminate the Revean Wolf and the Spotted Kythax for being considered pests. Things have changed considerably, with the Kythax being declared our national animal and the wolf population slowly recovering. Both are currently protected species.

There's an ongoing effort to suppress the population of some of the large Predators (Terror Birds are a bit too smart for comfort,) and previously engaged in campaigns to exterminate Rats and Ferral Cats (House Cats are a ridiculously potent invasive species and regularly wipe out whole bird species.) Both projects have succeeded in keeping the populations to low enough levels.

When we took over Earth, we first tried to eradicate many disease organisms that were attacking our slave stock. We figured that since humans had been able to eradicate smallpox (except for a couple of petri dishes of it), it should be simple for US to get rid of the other transmissable diseases...

Wrong. Those infinitessimal little bios kept changing their own Code [mutating] and bypassing all of our attempts. They have approximately no sapience, no processing power, none of that. Yet they manage to self-recode almost as well as Decepticons (some actually do even better)! Grr grr grr

Anyway, finally we recoded the slaves to be immune to all the other stuff. That was a lot easier. Now when some piece of crud mutates, we just make an immunity-producing DNA patch and give that to the slaves.

Right now, we're trying to eradicate these infernal things called "corn earworms v2." We have this GM'd corn that's so big that each kernel feeds a human. So what happens?! These tiny little insects - corn earworms - rewrite their own code so they become 2 feet long in response to the now-abundant food supply! We're spraying like mad and we're finally getting a handle on this problem, but they're far from eradicated.

So much for evolution being a nice slow process. Blasted bio-things seem to adapt to everything we do in a matter of months or a few years. We don't really want to consider what they'll do in a million years...

Drones have been eradicating Species for over nine hundred thousand years, the first few Centuries we used Genuine Combat. Batheticly In-Efficient. Once the Arc was made, we simply burnt the planet's surface to Ash and Cinder, then later on we found the Marker... about 1 or 2 Decades ago, ever since our "Pets" have served a Sufficient way for crushing any Organisms that show resilent force. That, and Chemical Bombardment work quite in sync.

Yet we still use the Arcs today to rid Planets of these pests if they are that under developed. Humans in Particular however we have a mixture of all three, a test if you will. What happens if you unleash all those on one world, well, you get a crumbling infrastructure, Craters where Cities were, a massive hordes of necromorphs. Its quite fun for us. Humans are a Pointless, Fleshy, inefficient Infection of Creatures that do nothing but waste resources and take up space. Why not be rid of them in a most gruesome way?

We weren't so poor managers of our environment as to have to come to that, and even if we were at that point, we would not engage in exterminating any species.
