How many airports does your nation have? And how many of them are international, national, or municipal? Also, what are some interesting facts about those airports, and how many airlines have it as a hub?

6 international Airports, 12 national airports, 8 airlines. Sky palace international airport is the most luxuriously decorated airport in the world. Greek fountains, marble columns, bearskin ruggs, and classic rock playing all day everyday. 4 strip clubs, 8 bars, 10 resturaunts, 9 arcades, and even 3 spas. the outside even resembles an enormose white castle and has hidden misslies and AA guns to protect from terrorist attacks.

We don't have the primitive installations that are Airports. Instead, we have Spaceports, of which we have about 50,000 or so.

There is one international airport, in Città de San Romiatius, that offers flights to San Cristobal and Tergston in Hobit and Corvian and Sevens in Solm every three hours. There are only two municipal airports in the country; one in San Parciamontti, 150 km southeast of the Città, and another in Santos, 250 km north of the Città. Flights between these three locations use Cessna 340s that take off every two hours. A handful of flights are offered from San Parciamontti to Hobit and Solm, and from Santos to Hobit.

Postby Jankenjin » Sat Apr 16, 2011 2:00 pm

Jankenjin aerospace tech is a rather different than Earth's. Although we're roughly at the same level technology-wise, we ended up taking a different path of progress. Because fossil fuels are scarce in our nation, we didn't develop the internal combustion engine or the coal-fired steam engine. Instead, the primitive wood-burning steam engines we developed gave way to the electrical motor, which was the true driver of our Industrial Revolution.

Without internal combustion engines, conventional aircraft were not practical designs, so our "aircraft" consist of balloons and rockets. A typical Jankenjin civilian passenger liner is a large zeppelin, powered by a series of small rocket engines that provide sufficient thrust to keep the balloon headed on course. Jankenjin military "aircraft" are actually manned cruise missiles, rocket engines with wings for lift and guidance.

So, your Jankenjin civil airport lacks runways; instead, it will be a large open field with mooring masts and enormous zeppelin hangers. A military airfield will have a runway, but it's shorter than normal since it's only required for landings, not take-offs. Those are done from the large launch-ramps, railed affairs that are angled up into the sky to provide initial lift for the cruise missiles.
Yes, we have a Factbook, for all those odd facts about this bunch of weird aliens.

Our only official international airport is Fatatatutti International in the capital, Fatatatutti. However, there is nothing to prevent international carriers from negotiating landing rights with any of the other major airports around the island.

There are a large number of smaller municipal airports, mostly near the coast, handling domestic flights. In the interior, there are are military airfields which may be used by civilians for emergency landings but the runways are too short for most commercial aircraft.

It is said that many pilots, such as the dreaded General "Mad Max" Castro-Stalina, will arrempt to land an aircraft in a wet sponge, so there are occasional instances of unorthodox procedures.

Bratoslovoukia has two international airports, one in Bratvit, and one in Bratavia, seven municipal airports as the only other way to traverse Bratoslovoukia's is by train, and some 14,000 military airports and airship hangars.

250, one for every major and semimajor airport in Auremena, recieve commercial service from either AUA, Regional, or AOM. There are many other smaller general aviation airports in Auremena, as well as a few cargo and charter only airports, such as Sjlovall airport south of Tsheremevko. The 11 most major airports on the Auremenian mainland are capable of handling international flights, while every mainairport in the outlying islands is capable. Currently, AUA is hubbed at 4 of the airports on the mainland, and has focus cities at 4 other. Regional, as AUA's regional subsidiary, shares the same hubs and focus cities. AOM, AUA's outlying islands flying service, has hubs at two of the airports in the Auremenian mainland, and hubs at the 3 busiest outlying islands, which are major tourist destinations.
