Military Cemetary

Postby GOLTZBORG » Sat Apr 16, 2011 9:43 am

Does your nation have a National Military Cemetary, where your people's Fallen Heros may be laid to rest ?

If so, please provide the name of your National Military Cemetary; as well as, any available photos.

Thanks.

We don't have set aside military cemataries; generally they are buried close to their families. We do have some memorials, about which I quote an old thread:

The Front Range Republic usually does not favor elaborate monuments, preferring a simple column (Note: Simple =/= Small) with a plaque at the bottom explaining what is being memorialized. The most important is the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier, dedicated to every member of the military who never came home. It is located in the city of Harbor Grove.

Not all of them are military memorials, of course.

Our servicemen and women are laid to rest wherever they stated in their will however we do have the National War Memorial Arboretum and Park in the north of the country which is dedicated to all those who lost their lives in the defence of Great Kingston and Democracy in any war.

It symbolises the peaceful world which was created for us because of their sacrifice.

The design is based around nature with minimal manmade objects because it was mankind which led to the deaths of these men and women and because they are now back within the earth which they fought to defend

We cremate the dead in Tsvarchi; there are no cemeteries here.

The cremated remains of members of the Militia are given to the family so that they can perform whatever the deceased wished in their will.

We don't have any national military cemeteries, our dead are buried where their families want them buried, but several townships have memorial columns with the names of dead soldiers from those communities inscibed upon them.

Traditionally, Fatatatutian warriors are buried where they fall. In modern times, with improved transportation facilities and with a more cosmopolitan society, we try to comply with the wishes of the family.

In either case, the family and comrades-in-arms will usually gather at the graveside, arm-in-arm, and sing:

"Times of joy and times of sorrow,
We will always see it through.
I don't care what comes tomorrow.
We can face it together
The way old friends do."

Yes, we DO have a National Military Cemetery. It's called the Jurassic Military Cemetery, located outside the capital of Saurus City.

We burn our fallen heroes so that their bodies will not tie down their souls in this world, we do however have countless monuments over the entire federation to celebrate those that have fallen and entered the warriors heaven.

No. The bodies of people who die on the battlefield are usally just buried or burned right there: on the battlefield.

We have an Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine cemetary. Any one soldier or sailor who wishes to may be buried in the cemetary of their military branch. anyone who dosent have a family is automaticly buried here. Unknown slodiers are given a special cemetary and all cemetaries have a monument to the fallen and are gaurded 24/7. The Name is simply the Eisen Reich National Military Cemetary. each headstone has a name, rank, cereal number and a list of honors if recieved.Image

Most families ask for the remains to be buried in their local graveyard so they can remain close to the deceased, but the state does maintain the Lt. Petr Kuzenovich Memorial War Cemetary in Beloroye, which got it's name from the fact that it's built on what was once farmland belonging to the Lieutenant's family, which was donated to the state after he was killed in action during a 1986 offensive against insurgents in the nation's volatile north.

National Cemetery of the Ascension is the primary military cemetery of Samozaryadnyastan. In the Military Quarter, on the capitol's outskirts.
As well as the war dead from The Ascension, it contains the bodies of the fallen of every conflict the PRS has fought in since its conception as the ISS. The current plot has the capacity to bury as much as half the currently serving members of the armed forces, and more than 10 square miles of adjacent land is undeveloped for expansion.
Interestingly, many comrades-in-arms prefer to bury their squad member's bodies on the field of battle. As such, many of the coffins buried in the NCA are in fact empty.

At a family's wish, a soldier's body may be buried at an alternate plot of their choosing - however, funerals within the NCA are all state funerals and are free to the family - plus having a relative buried in the NCA is considered highly honourable, due to the fact that it requires a death in military service or great deeds done in the name of the nation.
Victims of national tragedies such as terrorist attacks and civilian war dead are also buried in the NCA.
