Unusual Government Ministries in your nation

The Empire has several Ministries (which in our nation are lesser than the umbrella departments operated by the Great Lords of State) that are quite possibly unique to us. What unusual government ministries (large or small) exist in your nation?

In the Empire; (not all Ministers have an entire Ministry, some simply have staff within a larger department)
Minister for Colonial Affairs
Minister for Papal Affairs
Minister for Oceanic Development
Minister for Subterranean and Geological Affairs
Minister for Religious, Racial and Magical Minorities (RRMM)
Minster for Sexuality and Gender Identity (MSAGI)
Minister for Special Educational Needs
Minister for Constitutional Questions
Minister for Questions, Queries and General Correspondance
Minister for Extraterrestrial Development
Minister for Flora, Fauna and National Parks
Minister for Ports and Coastal Policy

With so many ministries, they'd all have less work to do, especially if there's a lot of people in the ministry. Instead of so many ministries, wouldn't it be better to have a, for example; Ministry of Internal Affairs - who cover your nation's affairs?

My ministries, although they're "Departments", same thing, are in my signature.

We do.
There are six "Great Lords" who each have a remit; Lord High Protector, Lord High Quaestor, Lord High Ambassador, Lord High Admiral, Lord High Justice and Lord High Constable. Under these Lords, you'll find the Ministers; some of whom are unelected peers, some are special appointments, some are elected Senators, some are Governors of a colony, some have staff, some are independent, some are political, some have no staff or office....all however, are specialists in their field.

The Malgravean Government operates various departments and has operated departments in the past that might seem odd to other nations in the international community.

- Minister of Wine and Cheese Selection. - A job that was cut during the recent 'streamlining' of the government
- Minister of Ports.
- Minister of Youth

The Samozniy Office of Nuclear Energy (a sub-department of the Department of Water and Power) deals with matters of not only nuclear power, but also those of nuclear weapons. A proliferation programme is in place and underway, though no warheads are under construction.
This enforces the image that nuclear warheads may be weapons of war but are strictly under the control of the government - and not the military.

We have a separate Ministry or Department covering each of the Services of the Morridane Armed Forces, namely the Admiralty, the War Office, the Air Ministry (both military and civil) and lastly the Ministry of Space that covers our space program and works closely with the Air Ministry on aerospace related matters.

Ministry of Truth (propaganda, going to neighboring nations and spreading what the Decemvirate wants spread)
Ministry of Liaison (liaison with bounty hunters, religious zealots, and to a certain extent the secret police and secret service)

Not any unusual ministries, but we have some unusual sub-divisions of those ministries.

Sub-Divisions of Urban Development:
- Propaganda Area Planning

Sub-Divisions of Army & Militia:
- Border Security (maintenance of border defences)
- National Service (cooperates with the census bureau, handles the training and drafting of the conscripts)

Sub-Divisions of Media
- Socialist Education (overseeing the making of pro-Socialist propaganda movies/tv series/books/cartoons)

Sub-Divisions of Justice:
- Labour Camp Overseeing (oversees that the People's Civilian Commissariat run Labour Camps functions optimally)

Fatatatutti's Ministry of Defense might be seen as unusual by some because it has no authority over the military. Its function is largely to facilitate communication between the military and Parliament and with the people of Fatatatutti at large.

For example, the Ministry publishes list of units that are accepting new volunteers as well as lists of occupational specialties that are being sought by the military.

It also maintains communications between the military and the Ministry of Education in general and the Fatatatutti Institute of Texhnology (FIT) in particular on matters of technology.

Health concerns of active members of the military as well as retired veterans are dealt with by coooperation between the Defense Ministry and the Health Ministry.

Day-to-day command of the military, as well as procurement, etc. are strictly under the authority of the Council of Generals and the Council of Admirals, with no interference from the government at all.

The Ministry of Economics sole task is too ensure the Red Tidean economy stays stable (ie: minimizing booms and busts) via whatever regulations it (and the central institute) deems necessary and also handles the investigation and prosecution of corporate corruption, hence their presence on the national courts. Well, it is not a ministry, but we still appoint a Witchfinder-General more out of tradition than genuine superstition. The funny thing is that the Witchfinder-General is legally obliged to investigate supernatural activity (and claims of supernatural activity and witchcraft) around the country and make criminal prosecutions for witchcraft where there is sufficient evidence that someone is a witch. But that hasn't happened since the 19th Century.

Also we currently have a ministry without a minister: Stephen McLeod MP, the Minister for Transport has been missing (now presumed dead) since October 2010, but the government is reluctant to appoint a new minister in case he turns up out of the blue with an awesome plan for reforming the nation's transport infrastructure. But he is likely to be expelled from Parliament for unattendance soon, even though he has disappeared off the face of the earth. The people of Barassay want a new Member of Parliament anyway.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It's no longer a governmental organization, but rather an organization of representatives elected in each community to basically hold the negotiations with other nations, while the peopel actually vote on what the final verdict will be. It is unusual, because after the formal removal of all government organizations during the rise of anarchy, it remained in order to maintain diplomatic relations.
