What is the general foreign policy missives of your nations current administration?
At the moment, the current administration is concentrating on foreign investment and establishing new economic ties with foreign countries.

And historically?
Generally the same as above. We haven't changed much.

Right now, it's to be friendly with ally nations, form alliances and strengthen our economy. However, we are aggressive and will attack anyone who offends us in the slightest. Our military is always highly trained and ready for battle.

Historically, it's to conquer and annex every nation within our reach, and we have done so on many occasions. We would destroy anyone who looked at as funny.

We're neutral. Our immediate concerns are our own well being and those of our allies and friends (Vermont, Rhodes, Izzyshipper come to mind). Besides a few embassies in select nations, and the occasional visit for official functions in friendly nations, we don't involve ourselves in the world stage as such.

We attempt to expand our economy by forming trade agreements overseas and through encouraging free trade amongst democratic nations however we are against joining any common markets (such as the Eurozone (sorry for the RL example)). We do, however, operate a policy of attacking any drugs or slave trafficking or smuggling vessels on sight regardless of whether they are private or national vessels which has not helped with some of our foreign relations.
We also send aid to foreign democracies in need of help whils imposing severe trade embargoes on dictatorial or tyrannical regimes.

Historically we attempted to expand our Empire into 'uncivilised and backward' countries but this changed after many former Commonwealth Dominions were given the chance of self-determination.

The general mission of Nefreedian Foreign Policy is to spread socialism. We are currently involved in consolidating the "fully free and independent" state of North Colitas in our region with "security personnell". We also provide material support for numerous revolutionary socialist movements and communist parties.

Historically, isolationism has been a key mission (that has been somewhat abandoned recently). Immediately following the Revolution, the former state of Freedomstan had several break-away states that were re-consolidated, which up until recently was the only "breach" in the isolationist policy.

We have a limited sense of internationalism (extending to alliances and an extensive embassy program), although we prefer our trade to be between us and a select few trusted countries (mostly members of the aforementioned alliances).

Under our former Minister of Foreign Affairs (and current Prime Minister), Harlan Escrow, our foreign policy could be summed up as, "Foreign bastards!"

Our current acting Foreign Minister, Carmen "Shimmy" Dykstra (the Prime Minister's personal assistant and alleged biological daughter), is less openly antagonistic and tries to avoid calling foreign leaders "idiots" (to their faces).

The Prime Minister has apparently modified his personal viewpoint on foreign affairs to, "Bloody foreigners!"

Sheer pragmatism. Red Tide does what is advantageous to Red Tide. If a war is advantageous to Red Tide, then there will be a war. If a peace conference is advantageous to Red Tide, then there will be a peace conference. If backstabbing an ally is advantageous to Red Tide, then they will backstab that ally.

Note that this is based as much on the actions of other country's as it is on Red Tide. For example, a peace treaty may be in Red Tides interest, but if the other side refuses to enter into it then Red Tide will move to the next best option. That may be continued war or it may be negotiations... it all depends on which would be better for Red Tides position.

The Red Tidean Union or The Union of Red Tide or the RTU or Red Tide. NOT Red Tide2.
Red Tide is an oligarchy, with the ruling body known as the 'Central Institution'. The Director of the Central Institute changes constantly. It follows no political ideology, so stop mistaking it for a communist state, thank you very much.

Anemos Major, on my nations name wrote:Oh boy, I can imagine being invaded by your nation.
"The Red Tide washes over us once again. But why?"
"It's that time of the month again."
Thank you, I'll be here all week. Try the veal.

Currently, the foreign policy is "advance the Ceann economy, preserve Ceann interests and don't let any communists set up camp when we can stop it".

Historically, it was either "For communism!", "For Queen and Country, lets get some colonies!" or "Fuck this shit, lets steal their wealth."
