Your Nation's Busiest Road

Postby Kalaspia-Shimarata » Tue Apr 12, 2011 1:35 am

What is the busiest road in your nation? Our is the President Homer, Airata, Souvlaki Lemonaki, Egglesica Grand Kalashi Freeway. It has 15 milliard cars a day!

Kalaspia-Shimarata's flag represents the Union between K&S. The dark blue represents the sea and the light blue represents the sky. In Kalashi language considers light blue and dark blue to be different colours. England colonised, and unified K&S, between 1774 and 1953, and English, light blue and dark blue are considered to be the same colour. Therefore, the contrast between dark blue and light blue represents the union, but the differences between K&S where as blue being two but simultaneously one colour represents K&S being two, but simultaniously one entity. The opposite to the symmetry represents the unity and indipendance of K&S, whilst also representing the Kalashi culture of opposite symmetry.KS is 75% Christian, hence the cross.

15 million cars a day? Is this because the highway is very long or high-capacity?

The most intense hotspots for congestion in Minoa is mainly cities and towns without widespread S-Bahn/Underground systems or congestion charging. Numbers vary but places include Arta, Tripolis, Izmit and Denizli.

The triple-decked Trans-Vidianic Highway crosses the Vidian mountains between the Volmachtian capitol and the low-lying valleys where most food production is done. Nearly 10 million traverse it each day- it is 12 lanes wide on both sides, and three decks of road can accomodate unforseen numbers of automotive vehicles.

The Periphery (the M0) is the ringroad around Ankh Morpork city centre. It's doesn't have the biggest overall volume of traffic in ArghNeedAName but it has by far the densest. It is estimated that 1/5 of the city population travels on the road every day (including passengers and drivers). All major motorways of ArghNeedAName radiate from here, but there's also an outer ringroad to relieve some of the pressure. About 30% of the Periphery is depressed, 20% is in tunnels, 30% is elevated and 20% is surface-level boulevards.

It's a very exhilerating experience. Cars drive at 70mph minimum, roads come flying off on either sides and you go through tunnels so often you keep getting blinded by the lights at the end of them. Junctions are very unpredictable, because what might be a safe lane one minute will dissappear at another interchange half a minute later. Lorries block your view of signposts while motorbikes cut you up at lane drops, the clueless tourist in front doesn't signal properly while the impatient bastard behind you keeps honking his horn. There's never enough room in the escape lane on your left until the last minute, but even as an experienced driver I have often been carted off towards the city centre when really I wanted to go to Moyniham or Newport or wherever.

- A local driver

Every year we get a "Prifflock" when the entire road gets clogged up completely, and that's really bad news.

The MW1 motorway is Kington Langley's busiest road, it is often called the 'Spine of Great Langley' as it links the North with the South, beginning 10 miles outside the city of Northrop and eventually linking with the Kingsmouth orbital motorway (MW10). Even though it is currently 10 lanes, it is often heavily congested most hours of the day.

The Interstate 6.

It crosses the country in an almost straight line.

Millions of cars use it every day to get to the other side of Savedland.
The United Federated Districts of Hevora. Or Savedland, as it is often hideously anglicized...

We are a large, free, powerful and beautiful country with a very long history that stretches back thousands upon thousands of years.

We are a union of many nations and cultures. The most dominant and shared by almost everyone is that of the Hevoran (Savedlish) People. It has its roots lying in an ancient creole culture that emerged from extensive contact between a bronze age hellenic and norse civilization which evolved convergeantly on an fictional, alternate universe Earth.

Bit weird, I know. But we're a lovely culture if you care enough to get to know us! :D

It goes through the nation from East to West. It is a 7 Lane road. It is also the place where most of the fighting took place in the War.
FYI: I am not trying to be the Erusea in Ace Combat 4. The Erusean Republic is a mixture of most nations in the Ace combat world. SO don't say Lrn2Acecombat.

The busiest stretch of road is Station Cirque in the city of Neo Athena. It is a ring road that circles Neo Athena Central Station. Station Cirque, together with its namesake, is the central hub of transportation for both the city and the nation of Neo Athena, with 6 major city streets converging on it. It is 7 lanes wide, including the parking lane on the inner edge that is reseved for public transport vehicles only. Traffic circles clockwise. Because the Cirque is so wide and so busy, it is impossible to cross; instead there are tunnels under the road to allow pedestrians to get to and from the station. There are also freight tunnels that lead to loading areas outside the Cirque.

The National Highway Traffic System (pron. "nits") program carries an average billion cars a day. This is mostly due to both the NHTS spanning the length and breadth of Thurask, and that it has many branches in the Thurask City metropolis.

If we are talking about how many cars use it, then it is the Teddy Autobahn. It joins the East and West of the TBR together. No speed limit. Over 8000km of nothing but road, and beside it, countryside. As it is so long, however, you generally only see another car every two minutes.

If we are talking about how densly populated by cars the road is, then it is Kingston street in the TBR. A main road, at least 250 cars are on it at anyone time, so it is usually congested.
